You could also say LeBron stepped up because no one else would, or could. My opinion has always been Boston would beat them in the playoffs. Someone had to win last night, and the Celtics did. Next spring will prove whose opinions were accurate.

LeBron’s debut for Heat draws big TV ratings

The Heat’s new Big Three earned big television ratings.

The debut of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Tuesday’s opener drew the most viewers for an NBA regular-season game in cable history.

TNT said Wednesday that Miami’s 88-80 loss to the Boston Celtics had a 4.6 rating and was watched by 7.4 million people. The rating is second only to the 4.9 for the Bulls-Lakers game on Feb. 2, 1996, when Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson met for the first time after both came out of retirement. That game had a smaller audience because of population growth.

Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Tuesday’s game actually earned a higher rating in Boston (17.1) than in Miami (15.5). It drew a 10.6 in James’ jilted former home of Cleveland.

The Heat is LeBron's team like the San Francisco Giants were Barry Zito's team after his first start of the season.

Who cares whose team it is. Wade and kobe may be better skill players but Lebron is more dominant right now than either guy. But when ringing time comes in june it may just be Wade's time to shine again ...we know Kobe will 6-24 or not ...

All that is fine, but he'll only quit again in the playoffs once things slow down and the opponents pack the lane to cut off his forays to the hoop.

All that means is that there where more people laughing at a team in NBA history.

Seriously, if the Spurs dont make the Finals (and they most likely wont) and the Heat do make the playoffs, I'm going to have a really tough time deciding what team to root for if the Lakers make it again.

I would probably root for the roof to cave in.

    As Cully would say...

Tree of woe for both teams and all that....

If the Spurs cant make the finals, my next best option is to hope the Celtics make it and face off against the Lakers so that Shaq can finally make Kobe's ass prolapse on nationall TV proving once and forall that HE was the man of the three-peat.... which everyone but laker gimps realize.

Miami looks like now, but once they start gelling and cut down on the turnovers, they'll be scary. Once things start flowing like they should, Lebron won't be getting 30ppg any more. Wade will be their closer. Lebron is basically playing point.
