Hibbert reminds me of a poor man's Duncan. Solid post game and rebounder, good footwork, was able to show the jumper.
Hibbert is nice. Him and Brook Lopez are going to be some nice big men.

Hyperbole master. I was crying? I just said I did not think he played that well, despite the numbers.

He had some really, really rough stretches. I also said surprising, because I expect a lot from him this year.
"a game to forget" would indicate you might be crying. I thought it was good yet unspectacular game from Parker. The most important thing to me is that he looks like he's in awesome shape, and he certainly has his jets back.

However he turned the ball over too much in the first half; I think due to the pace. But if an average game (or below average to you) from TP yields 20 pts (on 50% shooting), 9 assists and 3 steals (and leading the team in plus/minus), I'll take it.

    1st quarter TP -

    assist - 3
    points - 6 (3-6)
    turnovers - 1

    TP 2nd quarter -

    assists - 1
    points - 4 (1-2)
    turnover - 2

    3rd and 4th quarter - 5 more assists to 1 turnover. 10+ more points.

All this talk that Tony Parker played poorly to "start" (1st and/or 2nd quarter) is idiotic. None of the stats support that conclusion.

Watch the game over again in replay because you're still wrong. He had a fine game from start to finish. He didn't explode with points/assists late in the game, he was consistent throughout.
He had three turnovers in the first 17 minutes of the game. You should probably rewatch the game.

Atlanta and Sacramento also had high scoring games tonight.
I didn't make that comment just 'cause we score 122 pts today. We have talent and Pop's plan is to play a high tempo style of play, that's why I said it.

What's your point dude? We know he's going to score but he did have four assists and three turnovers. He did start off slowly and ended up strong.

    - Duncan looked dominant tonight, as he has looked in the 1st half of the season the last 2 years..when he's healthy, he's still as good as any big man in the NBA..hopefully the Spurs can get it right this time, something they didn't do the last 2 years, and keep him fresh..he's still alone defensively though..

    - Manu looked really good in the 1st half, not as good in the 2nd, but still great..he looks a lot better than he did to start the season last year, particularly his jump shot..

    - Parker didn't look great to me, even though his numbers look good..his explosiveness is off and he's still out of sync..is this bad news?..not at all..it's pretty scary that Parker can look like that and still have a decent game for his standards..he's going to be a lot better IMO..

    - Jefferson looked good..he didn't just stand in the corner and wait for jump shots..he attacked, he cut to the basket, he played hard..all you can ask for..

    - Blair started off well, but he played poorly the rest of the game..he should be the #1 option off the bench with Hill IMO, 2 man game between them most of the time..he looks for his shot too much to be a starter on this team..

    - Hill had a horrible first half, really good 2nd half..he had no speed at all in the 1st half, he couldn't get by anybody, he was passive..complete opposite in the 2nd half..

    - Anderson impressed me..he started off looking scared, but his confidence clearly got better as the game went on..he was putting up shots, driving to the basket..he played hard D, obviously Granger is too long and good for him right now..

    - McDyess's shot looks good, looks better than it looked to start last season..he's going to have to play a bigger role with Bonner and Splitter out, so hopefully he's in good enough shape..

    - Simmons looked horrible..he isn't an NBA player..

TBH, that is all that really matters. If you have guys that can lock you up on defense when it counts, that goes a long way, even if they take some plays off.

But I still don't think that is the case with the Spurs, although tonight was very good.
Hopefully, Splitter will be the answer Timmy needs some help down low.

Pop's new committment to the running fast break game just goes to show that he can change his coaching style to fit his personnel.

If they continue to play this style, it will be a really fun season.

You should probably take your own advice and learn to read my previous post where I clearly demonstrate how your conclusion that parker played poorly to start is flat out wrong.

    1st quarter TP -

    assist - 3
    points - 6 (3-6)
    turnovers - 1

    TP 2nd quarter -

    assists - 1
    points - 4 (1-2)

    3rd and 4th quarter - 5 more assists to 1 turnover. 10+ more points.

I like how you mention 3 turnovers in the first 17 minutes and act like that's all he did. He does...score points, and make assists, and get rebounds as well.

Dear lord I can only take so much idiocy in one night

We dropped 122 points tonight. Encouraging to say the least. Why not be the Phoexix Suns of the West?
    Because they don't win .

Yeah, TP's been fine I think. He hasn't finished well, but most of his decision-making has been good, and the jets are still there.

+ Nobody talks about his D, but he was very active tonight (for a reg season game), overall, I take any day such an "average" game from Tony (20pts/50% and 9ast)

For a first game, it's very encouraging

The offense runs so much more smoothly when tony is in the game compared to when george is running it. Tony did try to force a few things early and missed some layups (wasn't getting many calls at the rim either) but he continued to run the team nicely and everyone played off him well. I liked what I saw, and he is definitely quicker than he was last season.

He started with 3 assist to 1 turnover, and then faltered a little in the 2nd quarter. Overall his 1st half assist/turnover ratio was positive, and he played consistently throughout.

Please get your head out of your ass. You're an idiot. I'm sorry.

LOL Tony played a good game. He looks a lot better this first game than he did the first couple of months last season.

Do you guys not see the difference at all?

I really did not look at the stats, I just watched the game. I agree the most important thing is that he is healthy. I am sure the rest will come.

Maybe saying game to forget came across too harsh. I didn't think he sucked, just that he struggled noticeably at times. His production was fine, but I am fully expecting a disgusting level from TP this year.
