Since the defense showed up, I'll now share a couple of thoughts:
First of all, if the NBA is going to terminate the broadcast before the game is over, they can kiss goodbye any chance of my purchasing it. Really the opposite of what a free preview is supposed to do.
Duncan looked amazing. He didn't start off well, and Hibbert was ready to play before Timmy was. He didn't get some calls, and seemed to use some of that to just go back and get his own. Some of the moves he made were so impressive and effortless it's no wonder people don't realize how good he is. Taking the first three quarters off playing D'Antoni ball kept him fresh for the fourth quarter lockdown. That was fun to watch.
George looked awful to start, and got way better toward the end. I think he began to improve the moment he wasn't asked to run the offense. This team needs a backup point guard. Bad.
Anderson looked really good. For a rookie who's way undersized to go in and have to play Danny Granger, I was quite impressed. He doesn't look lost, and his defense wasn't terrible. Note to Pop: PLAY MORE ING PICK AND ROLL WITH THOSE GUYS ON THE FLOOR!
RJ looks like a different player. There is little doubt he understands what's going on FAR better this season. He put up numbers like tonight a few times last year, but they were meaningless stats. He really contributed tonight.
Blair looked, well, undersized. There. I said it.
Bobby Simmons just sucks so bad I can't describe it. At least he got pulled out before he gave the lead back to Indiana. I expect him to be starting before Thanksgiving.
