Piss poor economy + lame duck opponent (I don't care--it's Indiana) - bandwagon fans + ing Wednesday night = attendance
Not that big a deal. 1 down, 81 to go!
What did you expect? Next time don't tell everyone and their mother that your going to a Spurs game, and then we will fill the place up.

Exactly this. It's not a problem when the economy isn't and there is a lot of excitement about the team or a particular game. But it is a flat out ed location as far as attracting the marginal potential attendee. Its only going to get worse when we are a lottery team in a few years.
Wasnt the runner-up site by that quarry/factory/whatever further north on 35? I seem to recall the politics for choosing the 'hood was to revitalize that area, and i havent seen any evidence of that.
wow... fans have spoken... this thread sucks
It was also the first game of the World Series for the Texas Rangers, maybee that could explain some of the empty seats.
So a guy who posts regularly on a Spurs forum didn't buy Spurs opening night tickets and is ing about people that didn't buy tickets? And ducks is the stupid one?
LMAO at ppl blaming the economy
what happened to the economy in Portland, LA, Oklahoma, and all the other NBA cities that was sold out????
What? Stubhub has 3 dollar tickets for the game against the Hornets. Section 222, Row 22.
Don't tell me people can't afford to go to these games
Ticket prices have spoken.

Attendance was 18,581..lot of people probably got there late.
Hard to trust Sequ when it comes to facts and numbers or anything tbh.....
Alamodome? This is the first time I've been here since I went into a drunken coma after we got swept by the Suns, but I didn't think I missed THAT much.
I agree, I know it wasn't the most high profile home opener. We will really get a chance to judge on saturday night, it's a weekend so most people dont work Sunday. There should be no excuse for that many empty seats, especially in the lower levels. Once the momentum builds and we start racking up wins, fan interest will go up, and the seats will start filling again. regardless that doesn't hide the fact that we are showing signs of being a front-running city. These same people with shoe polish on their back windows, and Spurs flags flying out of every window in the car, won't show the same support until they think were well on our way to dethroning the Lakers. Sad. Bad economy or not, Spurs tickets are WAAAAAAY more affordable than Football tickets, no excuse for that crap.
Winner winner chicken dinner.
Great.
What about the 10 bucks to park? 10 bucks in gas to get way the over there? 10 bucks for sodas if you so happen to get thirsty?
Yeah Let me go pick some money from the tree, so I can get decent seats that make me want to actually go. Until then, Im watching at home on my 46" hd.

I was there and the arena was packed. Don't know where Sequ got his information.
where else is he gonna get his info? from his buddies Jack Daniels and Jimmy Bean
Not to mention in this economy people can't even afford 3 bucks at times. Its ty but its whats going on right now.
The first game of the world series says o.
what is with this Sequ guy what makes him tick why does he say the things he say? has he always been this way?
You also have a service fee and a delivery fee which is more than the ticket.
