Miami's going to be very scary at home.
damn the heat are adjusting and becoming scary much more quickly than i anticipated
Miami's going to be very scary at home.
Are you serious? Lebron started playing defense ... what last season?
No need to exaggerate Lebron has a chance at GOAT staatus but in the Olympics who guarded the best player ...let me know and get back to me.
I don't think he worded it correctly. Presently, Lebron is a better defender. When he's dialed in, he's arguably the best perimeter defender in the league.
Real talk, no trolling, Kobe's overall defensive impact is greatly exaggerated. Many "experts," (I use the term loosely, but it is what is) have stated he's been making the NBA defensive teams primarily out of reputation. He locks down late in the 4th, sure, but Kobe often plays average defense before he goes into "doberman" mode.
It's understandable, he's an offensive player first, a defensive player second, so he needs to wisely distribute his energy throughout the game, but Kobe hasn't played consistent, elite level defense since '00.
I agree here. LeBron has always had the tools to be a great defender, but he never really applied himself till 2008-09. When his head is in the game, he's damn near impossible to score on.
LeBron will have that opportunity now because he's got two people who can take offensive chores off his hands.
All that's left for this dude is a post game. Wonder if he'll ever develop one?
eventually, he's too skilled not to
Yeah. Lebron needs to be the all-tool guy for this team. Wade should be the primary option, Lebron the playmaker and primary defender.
Good averages for Lebron would be 19p, 9a, 7r, 50%, while playing defense like a mother er and only dominating the offense when necessary (if Wade's on the bench, etc...).
lol at everyone who thought lebron will average a trip dub with this team. If Wade and Bosh never handle the ball at all that might happen.
I agree Lebron has a way more consistent impact on the game defensively. But if i need one stop not sure he would be my choice. My point is I think you are overrating how good he is and i dont agreeKobe hasnt been an elite defender since 2000 I agree he has got defensive awards off of reputation ...
But Kobe played great defense after 2000 that is a lot of exaggeration
So where are all those people here who were sayin the Magic were going to spank that Miami ass?
I never said he didn't. I'm talking elite level, Bowen, Artest territory. He can play elite in stretches, but I don't think his performance on the defensive end has merited first team selections year after year.
Lakersground post from way back in '05 from a Lakers fan:
"but my basis of kobe being a overrated defender is watching the games. Don't get me wrong, kobe is a great defender, when he wants to be. I understand he has to carry the offense, but I definitely see his defense slip alot, whether it's from conserving energy or what not. He gambles to much, and plays the lanes to much. Especially the last 2 years. He needs to concentrate on staying with his man more. Again, he can be as good a defender as anyone, and he was 3-4 years ago. But as of now, it's mostly from his past reputation that he's considered a great defender."
And nothing has really changed much from '05. Again, it's not a knock on him. Jordan was really the only SG who was elite on both ends. Kobe's an elite offensive player and a strong defender, but not the best perimeter defender in the league, or of his era, like 21_Blessings and a few other Kobe fanboys have claimed.
I conceded some of the first teams were NOT wrranted for sometimesy defense ...but i also dont think Lebron is playing Bowen artest defnse yet either ...yet.
Oh and LOL quoting lakersground i have an account there some good posters but a bunch of Kobe sucker and kobe haters why you think i post here more often than there?
He's spot on with that observation, though.
he made some good points but i also think MJ was overrated on defense too in fact Kobe plays like MJ after the baseball on defense ...but everyone acts like MJ was on pippen's level as a perimeter defnder his whole career which is bull but whatever.
Back to my point Lebron can be artest/Bowen question is will he?
Probably not over the course of 82 games, but in the playoffs, he definitely needs to be Bowen/Artest. He can, but it's up to him.
Boston is ing lucky Wade was rusty, the team just had a bad game due to it being their first game.
and even then, they barely beat Miami.
Miami is going to beat Boston next time they meet.
Chris Bosh is a pair of goggles away from being a homeless man's Horace Grant so far this season.
I have a few more than those, brah. You forgot one of the best ones, PTCruiser thread.
BREH .. your a hoe

So you made all those stories up as a "joke"? Why did you delete your whole post in the thread where you cheated on your girl? It seems you were embarrassed and had hope no one would quote your post.
