What's so funny? The man is spending quality time with his family and helping coach his son.
He said he still wants to coach, but putting family first at the moment, I don't see anything wrong or funny about that.

Yup, plus he's still getting payed. So I don't see how this is an "epic fail", other than the original post.

he sucks. but so do 90% of other NBA oaches
his offensive coaching wasn't great but the guy was one of the best defensive coaches the NBA has had.

Getting to coach your son in middle school and getting paid $750,000 a year for doing nothing else is the opposite of fail.

I think he would be best used in a (previously) Thibodeau fashion and not as a head coach.
This is the opposite of epic fail, this is epic win much like Avery Johnson after getting fired by the Mavs - get paid a ton of money while taking a break from coaching. Mike's going to find a head coaching job in the NBA when the time comes even though he's far from perfect.
The Spurs did hire Danny Ferry but not MB.
