Look. I'm gonna start a Bill Russell "overrated?" thread. Daddy thinks he's overrated, History2b thinks he's a top 5 player of all time. Let's see who can make the better arguments.
The irony is rich with this one considering that you haven't had one legitimate basketball take in your short time here. It's either Laker sucking or Spurs bashing.

No
LOL, Butthurt much?
So says the guy who got clowned and punked by other Lakers fans when he joined LakersGround, I posted that link. Anyone can google search history2B and get the link.
So says the guy who claimed it as a fact the Spurs were done, and I proved that fact is only opinion.
So says the guy who claims greatness in the NBA has always been measured by rings won. I proved that wasn't true as well.
You are a troll. I am your daddy. I am the Daddy of all Trolls, get it?
By the way, I don't use advanced stats either. What you saw here in this thread is just a sampling of my vast knowledge. I've watched the game since the early 1960s. If I can remember all that I posted, what do you think I know about the game. You offer no proof I don't, only your opinion. It's a fun thread, just what this board needs outside of all the troll initiated garbage we see every day.
Also, who decides what a basketball topic to discuss, you?
Look at questions 10 and 25. If you were a coach, or one of those players, wouldn't you want to be certain the same thing didn't happen again? Very basketball related.
There is a lot of smack to be had in this thread, something a worthless troll like you lives for. Certainly you have heard the "Kobe is a rapist" rants. How about the Laker who actually hired a hitman to kill his coach?
I have a lot of es here, see my profile. Would you like to be my as well? Argue away and watch how I turn your words against you.
I bet you can't even answer the Lakers-related ones, even though you claim to have watched Wilt play live. You bandwagoning got.![]()
well I'll be dam...Mr. Midget Man snitched on History2b...

I must say I interpret this as ole Midget kissing yo ass...he's on here trying to prove and align himself with anyone that could possible own and discredit him...It's so convenient of him...you are truly his daddy...
Midight scared as of D...Of All Trolls.......

I feel sorry for your ISP.
You'd do well to reconsider your position..I'd definitely like to know how you proved this....greatness and champion can be de-coupled...and analyzed separately especially if you're considered great but have no le. if you don't win les but have a great career then at the end of the day you're legacy takes a hit no matter how you slice it...it's not totally fair but that's the ultimate measuring stick. sure you can make the hall of fame and get some acclaim and recognition but a le is the crown of a career. and yes ring ac ulation is different for role players vs star players. Horry's 7 rings still won't get him into the HOF and they don't mean much when compared to Barkley or Malone's career simply because he was a role player and never had to carry a team. It would be like comparing Oranges to Mandarinquats...
Let Magic tell it..that's it and that's all:
"The great thing about the Lakers is that we judge by championships,'' said Magic, who -- along with Kareem, Kobe and crucial role player Derek Fisher -- has won a handful of rings with the Lakers. "So when Kobe gets that next one, then he'll be The Man; he'll be the greatest Laker. And I'll have no problem giving him that.''
Need more perspective... I'll suggest a good read:

"I feel sorry for your Mama"...![]()
The man has a right to defend himself.
And I like drama. I want to see these two go at it, hence my Bill Russell thread.
Not like I was in a police station and ratted on the guy who won me 3 les or anything.
Who the would even think about doing that?..
Nothing ironic about that at all. You should learn and understand what the difference between a coincidence and irony.
Regardless, in my experience thus far, legitimate basketball discussions and Spurstalk don't mix. Too many Spurs dipsticks with Laker sticks jammed too far up their ass to sensibly talk about anything. Like yourself midnight, a self admitted troll/spammer. What is there to ever talk about with the likes of you? lol.
Why don't you just let history2b start the thread? . . . oh, wait . . . never mind.
the key to my statement is history2b claims greatness has always been measured by rings. It wasn't always that way, it's a recent thing. See the Russell overrated thread for my explanation. If rings were a measure of greatness, Wilt with 1 ring in 1970 would never have been considered the GOAT. Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, and Jerry West had none at the time and were considered #'s 2-4.
On topic, since you are a Lakers fan, can you answer any of the trivia questions? Certainly, you want to know the answers.
Well that's a sensible response.... "butthurt much." Gee, so clever, so deep, so perceptive. A mentality I haven't faced since 7th grade.
Here's the link to lakersground http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=121828
Amazing to see all these Laker fans "clown" and "punk" me by telling me to post the topic in another section of the website. Again, what perceptive insight you have.
Spurs are done. This is fact to everyone with 2 eyes, a brain and zero Spurs homerism.
Nope, you didn't prove that rings weren't the measure of greatness ever. I'm sure in your head you believe that to be true but factually speaking that never happened.
I'm not a troll; connection failed.
Never said you did use advanced stats. Everything really isn't about you despite what you may think. I've met plenty of fans of basketball who've watched their whole life and they still don't know the game very well; case in point a moron on the internet who points to his vast knowledge of irrelevant factoids as a means of relative intelligence.
I welcome the challenge of someone like you turning my words against me, lol.
If you decide to respond please be sure to talk more about how the team that gets swept out the lowly Phoenix Suns really aren't "done."
No. That's the definition of irony.
You scold others for their limited basketball knowledge, while not presenting any yourself.
It's also hypocritical and contradictory.
Bill Russell is better player than all of the players you listed regardless of meaningless polls you think you remember from 40 years ago.
He did, actually, by citing the fact that Wilt and Oscar are considered "greater" players than many counterparts who collected more rings.
And you can reduce this idea, the rings argument, to the absurd to show how flawed it is.
Ok, fine, whatever. the gauntlet is set, the lines are drawn. I have made my statement why Bill Russell is overrated. Let's see your case for him, and your rebuttal to me. the smart guys here, like mp and HH37 (can't say the same about ambchang, lol) have already learned what it is like to tussle with me, and out of mutual respect, we don't antagonize each other anymore. now, it's your turn to find out.
Prove it.
Don't just cop out with, "Derp, he has 11 rings."
Make a cogent argument. See my Bill Russell thread.
That's not irony at all. Are you really that stupid?
Don't blame me that you have severely limited knowledge pulp. It's just a message board. Maybe you should start another pathetic best posters thread at 1am on a weekend like the socially inept twit that you are.
"Prove it" lol
Prove otherwise.
blah blah blah.
Every point you thought you made was wrong, inaccurate and otherwise proved your inability to put up a fight.
Game over troll boy.
That's because it does require some level of thinking. It's not as simple as saying who has the most, but it does play a bigger factor than any other facet of the game.
Irony (from the Ancient Greek εἰρωνεία eirōneía, meaning dissimulation or feigned ignorance)[1] is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or situation in which there is an incongruity or discordance that goes beyond the simple and evident meaning of words or actions.
Your criticizing of others for their lack of basketball knowledge while having none yourself is "an incongruent situation." It's the very definition of classic irony.
Jesus ' in Christ you're re ed.
Another example of irony would be calling your fatass, "Slim," or a "knowledgeable poster."
