I was so happy when Bonner went down with the ankle injury. It gave more playing time to guys with athleticism and decisiveness...and guys who are NOT defensive liabilities.

Bonner isn't a defensive liability if he's allowed to play his role at his position. If Pop had started Bruce Bowen at center you'd have realized what a terrible center Bruce Bowen was.

I have no problem with Bonner taking Simmons minutes when he returns. Actually, Blair needs to get his head together or we may see a rotation of Splitter, Dice, Bonner, and Duncan. Pop will not hesitate to put Blair in the doghouse if he does not start playing with more fire.

Thinking Bonner is this soft guy is exactly the opposite. Bonner is pretty tough guy.

BTW, STFU with the "Im happy he got hurt"

Thats bull . You NEVER cheer a guy getting hurt, ESPECIALLY on your own goddamn team.

the reason ppl hate bonner is b/c pop has played him many times outside of his role - a 15 min/game PF who can shoot the 3 ball and space the floor on offense. that's it. it does not matter if he's hot or not, that's all he should play in the nba. his defense is under par; even on his best days, it's just average. we know that.

so stop hating him b/c it does not fill big shot rob's huge shoes or b/c pop plays him more than he should. btw, neal and anderson are shooters, small guards - they are supposed to shoot the ball; they are not anti-bonner; in fact, i am willing to bet that bonner finishes the season with a better 3PT% than both of those guys.

Does this really deserve its own thread? I'm sure you could have posted on the many other 'anti-' or 'hate' Bonner threads.

@ EricB-Thank you. I hate that . Its one thing to joke around and hope the other team's players get hurt, but Bonner is one of our own.

Been a Huge Spurs fan for 20 years asshole. And if Bonner being hurt helps my team, I'm all for it. I'm soooo ing sick of these Bonner apologists. You dumasses sound like Wade Phillips, only focusing on positives.

You are not a Spurs fan at all, asshole, if you celebrate their injuries. GTFO.

No, we're just putting the blame where it belongs; on the guy who decided to start a role playing small forward at center for 70 games.

it does not matter how long you've been a fan or on this forum, a troll is a troll; going to the derogatory comments does not help your value either dude. take a chill pill. you want to make outlandish statements like your thread le, you better back it up with some new perspectives, new numbers, new something; we already know that ppl don't like bonner, we know that, it's been do ented.

Exactly. Don't blame the player who starts the games and is overmatched, blame the coach who keeps starting him.

Bonner has had plenty of great games as a Spur, and he's had plenty of games where he has played good defense..particularly in the 1st half of the season 2 years ago..

It's funny how much people overreact here..all this talk after Neal played one good game..

Oh so now it's all Pops fault? Pops big mistake was to put Mason at the point. But Bonner is 6'10" with no post game. He has to play center or nothing at all.

That's completely stupid. Bonner can play any spot on the front line so long as he's in there to shoot three pointers and be an energy guy, which means coming off the bench for limited minutes and being careful of the matchups when he's in. Starting him and asking him to defend guys like Lamarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol in the post night after night after night is ing re ed.

If putting Mason at point guard was a "big mistake", then starting Bonner for a season ranks up there with Vietnam and Prohibition.

I think you're right, if you keep it in perspective. Bonner has always been good at what he does. There's no reason to expect any different this year.
