I won't pretend to know the state by state law, but as far as I know, you can be liable for her medical while pregnant also. Then if the child goes to college, you can be accountable for that too.
Birth control is not 100%. You could be one of the lottery winners of an unplanned pregnancy.
Not for everyone, but if she has the child, and if the child is yours, you may want to consider making a life with her. Think of the child, and don't make it grow up without both parents around. Be a man.
Dude, if she was "on the pill" AND you used a condom, there's like a .000005% chance of it happening. I wouldn't believe her, she's probably trying to sucker a dude with a future into being her baby daddy. If you used a condom and it did not break or anything, chances are that you're good.

I wish it was; though all of the previous posts (college app, science thingy, voting one (to an extent; that one was started to get someone to dumb down the "basics" of what I would be voting for, as I don't follow politics much but I figured I'd vote now that I'm 18), except the "strapon story" were trolls. That one was not a "troll", nor is this one. I'm honestly at a loss on what to do. I talked with a few friends and my brother, they suggested to look at abortion as an option (if it's even mine), or a DNA test (can you do that before the child is born?)

Considering you don't have a fetus inside of your uterus, you're not really in the position to "look at abortion." That's her decision.
If you have real concerns about the kid being yours, talk to the girl, find out whether or not she wants to have the baby, and let her know you want a paternity test as soon as it's medically possible to do so. And if you can't have an adult conversation with the person who is potentially carrying your child, then you probably shouldn't be engaging in activities that may result in the creation of another life.

How do I ask her for a paternity test without making it seem like I think she's a who sleeps around? Do you know when its medically possible to check if I am the father? Also, if it turns out I am the father, am I legally obliged to pay child support, or does she have to seek it? Her family is pretty well off, so would I still be paying child support?

Thats the thing though, I don't know for sure if she was sleeping around or not. There is a possibility she just lied about the birth control, or that somehow, despite a condom AND birth control, she still got pregnant.

Nah we've been texting since that time, and yes it was the same girl. It wasn't a one night stand either, we had sex two different times (both times with a condom), but I wouldn't call her a "girlfriend" or anything..
