I don't have a problem with people who smoke weed. But holding it in my room is different. And I'm not ever buried in my books either, so that excuse doesn't really work.

so he's just holding it in your room? not smoking it in there? unless the cops do random walkthrus with the canine unit then you have nothing to worry about. i went to traffic court in 2007 and did lines of cocaine in the bathroom before and after my trial. weed is small time.

But just a few minutes ago, he pulled out a small bag of weed.
you logged on to spurstalk a few minutes after you saw the baggy?

he was probably looking over your shoulder at what you were typing.

I don't get how I'm expected to know the ropes of how weed in life goes about. I'm a freshman and never did it in high school. I've gone to parties where it's happened, but the stakes are way higher here. I know the odds of the worst things happening are unlikely, but I'm just being paranoid parrot because it isn't 0% either. And there's random room checks, but I don't know if the dog is invovled, I wasn't there when the first one happened.

I'm always on Spurstalk anyways. And nope, he just grabbed it and took off to class.

i dont know where you're going to school but unless its in nevada i'd say the chances of you going to jail for obstruction of justice are pretty low and even then you'd get out of jail on a pr bond the next morning and probably be able to sue your roommate or the school with the right lawyer. 24 hours in jail is a small price to pay for the potential payoff.

in any case i recommend you at least start drinking alcohol before you become the next jacob1983 or trainwreck2100. you dont want to be the guy who graduated college without ever getting laid.

dogs in the dorms? what school are you at?

the thing that pissed me off most was the Tuesday-in- 20- degree- January- 4:30 am- idiot that threw a fireball down the trash chute to set off the fire alarm.

LOL well no weed is small time in terms of its effects, but that's not what's being debated and relevant in this case.

What is relevant = weed is a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance, making it the opposite of "small time" in the re ed, hypocritical eyes of the law

lol this guy trying to school me in drug law

and most texas precincts no longer book you for less than an ounce. depends on the county of course but a lot dont. i met a dude in a parking lot to buy weed and we just traded the money for the bag thru our car windows. a cop sitting in the same parking lot saw this and did nothing. im just saying you're not going to jail like in the movies for a pissant bag of weed. it takes multiple bags and lots of weight to go down for weed these days.

I'm not trying to school you, just making a point on what's relevant.

    BTW,
    1. You live in Texas, doesn't mean the starter of the thread does
    2. You're not going to jail for possession, not your first offense, you're still getting fined and having a criminal record...which is the important part here because it can definitely you in the job market right out of college, especially in this job market and the large number of college grads looking for work. Recruiters for internships and jobs easily receive so many applicants that any tiny detail allows them to throw your application out without any regret. When it's more than a detail, i.e. possession of illegal substances, too easy. Later job, keep lookin'. Lucky to even get an interview probably. Repeat and repeat and repeat.

Yep...that and if you get caught with any drugs in college, there goes your financial aid. But, just don't get caught.

I was working at Bush Middle School last week when the NEISD K-9 patrol came thru on a routine check. My kids go to school there and I wasn't aware they did that.

They were pretty hardcore about bringing in the canine unit when I went to Reagan. I'm sure it's still the same but with all the Beamer-driving rich kids that go there a lot of them are doing cocaine. I didn't start smoking weed until I quit the football team after sop re year but I remember one time in practice the assistant principal came by, made us all get in a single file line, came thru and yanked 4 guys from practice. Took them to the locker room and made them do a UA right there on the spot because someone caught them doing coke in their car before school. Don't think they were expelled but they were suspended and kicked off the team.

Senior year I worked in the attendance office mostly just to come to school late and get free hall passes but they always had the dogs waiting in the hall out by that office in the mornings. One time I fed one of the dogs a donut and the cop got all butthurt about it saying like "if you feed the dog treats then he can't do his job!!!"
