    bull chumpdumber...

really? you're gonna make that argument? Matt Bonner, I think we all except for maybe you has no impact on the win loss column. He has no upside, he is a one trick pony that really isn't good at the one trick. He plays smaller than Mugsy Bogues in the paint.

Wake the up already...Matt Bonner getting 4 years is total bull . I didn't know it was 4 years, now I am even more irate over this bull ...

    Come on man...
i know everytime i see the "4yrs/14mil" i have a grand mal seizure

ive run out of theories, as to why pop would sign him for so long!!! will he trade him? no! its like the mike finley affair he didnt want to trade him at all yet he kept him on the bench for what damn reason??..until finley said he wanted to be released!! pop got butthurt

seeing how bonner will jump off a bridge if pop told him to i doubt we ever see matt leave!! i bet he wouldnt trade bonner for greg oden !! i mean lets say he played matt like hes supposed to which is 15min dammit why in the are we paying him 14 damn million dollars??!?!

the best case scenario is we trade him and acquire a big defensive guy even if its a 1 trick pony lets make sure thats defense!!! looks like 2 bigs will be available soon JEFF GREEN and GREG ODEN

Don't knock on Matty B... he went for 16/14 last night. Oh wait, that was Matt Barnes. I should've known that couldn't be Matt Bonner getting 14 rebounds.

How nice would it have been to have Matt Barnes as a versatile SF/PF in Pop's rotation? He would have been the perfect fit and would have jumped a plane to SA in a heartbeat for 4yr/14m.

    My theory

RC sent Pop a memo 'we need to sign Matt B'. Next day Pop resigns Bonner for 4 years. RC: Doh!

Hate to admit it, but the Spurs' bench looks promising.

    More on Barnes.
    http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/...-is-fitting-in

    Notable quotes
Barnes is averaging eight points, 5.3 rebounds and two assists a game, in 19 minutes.
He added badly needed depth at small forward, one of the only structural weak points on the roster.
The glass work on both ends is hardly a fluke- Barnes was third in the league last season among small forwards in rebounds per 48 minutes.
He was, notes John Hollinger in his preseason scouting report, 12th in True Shooting Percentage at his position
Barnes joked after the Golden State game how his presence only complicates things on the defensive end, because now there are three guys- himself, Kobe Bryant, and Ron Artest- all vying to guard the opponent's best player. Most nights, Barnes will probably lose out, but the defensive versatility, like the rebounding and off-ball movement on the other end, will only enhance Jackson's ability to use him.

Thinking Bonner is this soft guy is exactly the opposite. Bonner is pretty tough guy.

BTW, STFU with the "Im happy he got hurt"

Thats bull . You NEVER cheer a guy getting hurt, ESPECIALLY on your own goddamn team.

So we're pretending we could have signed Barnes this summer now?

Tell me, where is Barnes from?

Barnes with 16 pts and 14 boards (9 offensive) in 20 min off the bench. Hope L.A. hangs on to him for a couple more years.

we could have gotten Barnes a while ago. I think Spurs office was considering it when he was in NY I believe.

Why not? They could have offered him the same contract they gave Bonner - 4yr/15m.

Barnes made it clear he was primarily looking for a longer term contract, but also wanted to play on a contender, spurs could have offered him both which would have trumped LA's 1 yr offer.

And ya I know, Barnes is from LA & went to UCLA .. really wasn't a big factor in his decision though.

No, they could not. The Spurs could not offer Barnes a contract that started at more than 2.3M.

And TJastal would pay the luxury tax himself.

As a high powered agent with inside knowledge of Scola and now Barnes, it's chump change for him.

No, they could not. The Spurs could not offer Barnes a contract that started at more than 2.3M.
So they would have been restricted to 4yr/10m. Still trumps the laker deal.
