lol I know, for some reason he's got a higher rating than Neal, Temple, Anderson, Bonner, and Splitter! He's got the same rating as McDyess. Someone who does the roster updates must be a big Gee/Bama fan.
The CBA requires us to keep 13, so unless they want two revolving door positions, maybe he sticks?
I think were too deep at the moment for Gee to see any action. He might stick but with Manu, Neal, Anderson, RJ and Hill getting spot minutes at the 2, I dont think its reasonable to expect him to play.
His best chance was probably if Anderson, Neal or even RJ started out the season poorly..
Gee and Temple both look on their way out. Gee is deep in the doghouse and the Quinn signing is a bad sign for Temple.
Both will likely be waived soon but I still have a glimmer of hope that Spurs could do a little trade with their contracts.
So much for Temple being Pop's new favorite player.
I would think Temple at least is tradeable. Not sure about Gee though. Chris Quinn sucks though, I can't believe we would get rid of Temple for Quinn. I'd doubt Temple's getting cut.
What I really don't get is how we haven't gotten an explanation about Gee yet. Temple hasn't played well so that's understandable, but Gee so far has been an invisible person, on and off the court.
I get the impression both Blair and Temple are dealing with some internal struggles trying to develop and evolve their respective games for their roles and positions, but Temple's obviously got a shorter leash. I just can't dismiss how high Pop was on the guy and how enthusiastic he was when talking about Temple's potential during the Summer League.
I'm not sure if this is somewhat of the same situation Hill found himself in during his first Summer League and his transitioning to the point, but I guess it could be. I had a better read on Hill, though. I could see it was between the ears and only a matter of time.
As for Gee, I think most of us expected him to be playing on the Toros this year. Now, I haven't a clue if that's still in the cards or just where the Spurs stand on him, if they believe he's about as good they're going to get for a project, but him not playing doesn't surprise me at all.
He didn't even beat out an established player for a spot in the rotation during training camp.
Quinn is already player 13 in the "revolving door" position. Who would they replace Temple and Gee with? Can they improve those positions off the waiver wire? I'm not sure they can.
Honestly, I thought Gee was going to be the first cut, right before his contract was going to guarantee. Once they cut Simmons, though, it kind of threw everything into flux. Who's going to be better off the waiver wire that they'd cut Gee and keep Quinn? And if you're tllking d-league, wasn't Gee the ROY last year? You think we're going to get a better d-leaguer than that?
Gee doesn't have Quinn's style
There is no point for a team to keep a young player on their roster if they have stop believing he could turn into NBA material.
All signs point in the direction that Spurs have fully given up on Gee.
For Temple, it's less clear but it could also be the case.
If Spurs have no hope left for both, both should and will be waived. Spurs will have two rosters spot available to try some new players like Quinn. These new players won't be great prospect and have little chance to turn into NBA players but little chance is still better than no chance.
