NA Ps3 version isn't out yet.
Now that I think about it, it could be because i got the Euro PC version, so i played a bunch of germans and brits. I guess if there's any doubt, the NA ps3 version would be the way to go

The . I'm an idiot.
I'll give a concise review of PES 2011 (PC)
The Good
1. Creativity: Free-flowing manual passing that doesn't seem like a chore (like in FIFA 11) really rewards creativity. Mounting an attack that's finished off with a 1-2 lob through-ball is one of the best feelings in the game. And since every pass and play is different, I end up trying to one-up myself by experimenting with different runs and lobs. Vintage PES is back.
Shooting in this game is pretty good, once you get accustomed to its sensitivity. It's a low hard to score belters from outside the box now, but when you catch one right (like I did with Essien) you might actually jump out of your seat. One thing I STILL haven't figured out though, is scoring in-game penalties...
2. Master League: As addictive as ever. I'm in my 5th season and I'm still not bored in the slightest.
The Bad
1. Commentating: Terrible. Really no excuse for that in 2010, it's just a matter of dedicating more resources for this aspect.
Champion: What a terrible shot, it was closer to the corner flag than the net!
Beglin: Oh what a good shot! Unlucky to score!
2. Defending/Ball-possession: Again, something they should've really retooled in the past 3-4 years. One-foot stab tackles and crashing into players to cleanly steal possession needs to go. Many times the player with the ball can run through defenders, having the ball ping-pong off each other until the offensive player comes out of the crowd with the ball.
3. Refereeing: This is an aspect that has actually regressed over the years. I've heard that there is in fact advantage play in the game, but it's so broken that most people never see it. Normally, the play is called dead the second a foul is committed. It's weird, because I remember effective advantage play in WE7-9. You're also allowed to murder a player with a crunching tackle the second after he passes the ball - killing any chance of a 1-2 pass.
Online
I tried PES 11 online with a friend (XBOX 360) and wasn't really impressed. The game was comically fast (although you can slow it down a bit) and the problems with defending are amplified times 10 when playing individuals online. My friend who had hardly played was in basically every game we played (won one as well) because all he needed to do was hold the sprint button and crash into me when I had the ball. I was debating which version I should get for online play, but I think I'm gonna get the PC version, consider how much I like the customization options for kits/stadiums/music.
Overall, a big step in the right direction after years of mediocrity. The bads are there, but the goods are so damn good you often forget about the game's flaws. If they can work on a few things, I wouldn't be surprised if it regained the form of WE9.
8.0/10
The best goals I've scored so far have been from volleys off of corner kicks. Like you said, if you time it right with players like Essien, Gerrard, Iniesta, it'll blast in. I'm actually glad you can't score easily from outside the box anymore.
I just started getting used to them and free kicks. It takes some practice, but it's gets easier. I found this tutorial helpful
One thing I STILL haven't figured out though, is scoring in-game penalties...

You literally have to do each step one at a time, instead of a fluid motion (if that makes sense). Like, press shoot, let it go, choose direction, let it go, then adjust strength of the shot. Once you get them down, they're pretty much unstoppable.
Agree, commentating is crap, but the Euros seem to love Jon Champion. I think his voice it horrible, and the things he says are just crap. (If you're up 3-0, as soon as you make the 3rd he says "and they're in the lead!"
1. Commentating: Terrible. Really no excuse for that in 2010, it's just a matter of dedicating more resources for this aspect.
And the other guy doesn't even speak. The only thing he says is "Oh my" when the ball crosses the line.
Bring back Peter Brackley (or wtf his name was)
Reffing sucks in this game, but not as bad as last year. I got sick of the 1 tackling animation, no fouls called, and players being tackled at the same time that they're shooting.
As for the advantage rule, out of the million MLO games i've played, i've seen it maybe twice or 3x. I know it's there, and the ref does the "play on" animation, but it's nothing like WE9.
Anyways, i'd give it a similar score, having similar gripes (although I play a lot more online than off). I'm waiting til after the january transfer when a good patch comes out then i'll play some ML and BAL. Overall though, i'm enjoying this years game 10000000x more than the previous ones on next gen. By this time I'm usually done with this game
As far as the wild shooting goes, you guys are holding down R2 when you shoot, right?
I'll use it if I'm one on one with the keeper, but ill tap it after I press shoot button. I always shoot a really weak shot if I hold it while I shoot
Well, you can shoot with the meter over half and still keep it down lower if you do. It basically halves or 1/3rds your shooting power, which makes you able to get a strong shot off without making it sail over the bar.
I'll have to try it out. That's actually one of the few things I like about FIFA. The shot modifiers makes for better shot placement for either a driven shot or a placed one.
Also, if only PES allowed you to switch between players with the right stick (like FIFA), I think it'd be closer to a perfect game. I freaking hate how on goal kicks and such it will never let you switch to a player you want
FINALLY picked this up. I'd forgotten how ing ty copying over an option file on the PS3 is.
![]()
Ya those option files ing suck putting in, all the uniforms, logos, etc... I'm just worrying bout custom chants, stadiums, and music right now, and doing the rest later if at all.
It was much easier on WE9 on original XBOX and an action replay thingy. Just copy and paste the file into the memory card and boom, every single thing is done for you, even new leagues (like German Bundesliga, etc)... Now it's way too much of a hassle.
But I do appreciate the chance to edit almost everything in the game.
Yeah PESedit.com custom pack rules for PC customization. They add new leagues, teams, and kits like each month.
Anyone want to play on the PS3? Been playing for a month now and I'm back in the groove. Doing BAL and I got on Barca after taking PSV to glory and they ers wouldn't play me. I'm at AMF. So I said FU FC Messi and I went over to Inter and have been destroying. Me + Diego Milito = AMAZING.![]()
Bump. WTF es. Lets go.
Unfortunately I have this game for PC and XBOX, so I'm unable to tap that ass.
I thought about bumping this thread yesterday
Lucky for you because Ghana v US would go a bit differently. And by a bit I mean I would beat your ass 4-0.
I haven't decided which one to get yet![]()
Ok, so I finally got PES 11
OMG, orgasm, sex, poop, fetichism, bondage, I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it
Plus, it's much cheaper than FIFA
I agree with Resistanze; the passing system is very rewarding
You have to get used to it (that and the shooting), but it's really worth it
While FIFA seems to be more simulation oriented, PES 11 feels more realistic and less robotic.
The passes don't fall right in your teammates' feet; the position of the passer's body is taken in account, which is more realistic IMHO
I also like how the players move without the ball; I was playing with Real, controlling Ronaldo right outside the penalty box, when Sergio Ramos came flying out of nowhere
If you watch a real RMA game, you will see Ramos doing that once in a while
So Real plays like Real, Barca like Barca, North London like Arsenal
Sure, the game has its flaws, but I can live with them (plus, PES 12 will be even better, hehe)
I also love the broadcast feel, and the crowds
you FIFA
FIFA>PES.... that North London Bull
Omg
Licences, big ing deal![]()
