    Dammit

Some people reported their alarm going off an hour late - due to daytime savings adjustments

Even though the Iphone updated the internal clock automatically, the alarm clock apprently didn't.

It's a good thing I woke up without the alarm this morning

That doesn't make sense. Gaining an hour should mean that everyone's alarm would have gone off an hour early.

No if it didn't work it would go off an hour late. Remember 6 am now is 7 am last week. If you are used to waking up at 6 am and the phone didn't change then your 6 would be everyone else's 7.

    Shouldn't your 6 AM be everyone's 5 AM??

    Yes

Some news report that the alarm did the opposite

So, with DST it's minus 1 hour, but the alarm clock went +1

this was pretty well posted on most tech sites. all you had to do was turn the alarm off on saturday night to avoid it.

On Saturday I set my table alarm clock (really my backup alarm) back an hour before I went to sleep to ensure I would wake up on time. All my phones usually update after the time change, and I had to work so I didn't want to be too early and miss my hour of sleep.

Not only did my plan work, but I had an unexpected surprise, my iPhone alarm went off on time and not early. So I don't see what problem everyone was having because my phone didn't miss a beat with the change.
