with gordon and kaman out (2 of their top 3 players), the spurs should blow these scrubs out of the gate while keeping the big 3 under 30 min each.

    let's get a win spurs

The Rockets didn't have Yao and lost Martin and Brooks in the second half and still almost beat the Spurs.

Historically the Spurs seem to struggle when their opponents have their key players out. Of course that's probably selective memory somewhat too (Portland Trailblazers last year)

I wouldn't count on it... there's still others who might "replace" kaman n gordon

true. btw, when i said should, i meant they must be focused and play at their potential; rather than they will get a win.

We could just as easily blow them out as blow a lead and lose the game in the end. Hate to say I see us due for a loss, though I think Pop is less inclined to "throw a game" compared to in the past. Hopefully players like Hill and Blair finally show up and that gets the win.

Trap game! Manu said they relaxed way too much once both got injured, hopefully this doesn't happen in the Clippers game.

Yeah the Spurs have a history of struggling against teams with key players out but hopefully they remember the Houston game from the other night...they didnt seem too happy about letting Houston back into it...

Spurs have always been a little too nice to really take advantage of other teams missing key players. they seem to have a problem with putting their foot on the throat of their opponents. they'll probably win, but they'll let the other team stay in the game.

They better. Second night of a back-to-back (although no one, save for Bledsoe, played heavy minutes), terrible team to begin with and not only terrible, but not even the type that gives a lot of effort and they'll be missing at least one of, if not two of their three best players.

This is just what the doctor ordered for the Spurs. They need to not only keep winning, because of how favorable the schedule is, but blow a team out, so they can get the minutes down of the big three and McDyess.

Yeah the Spurs have a history of struggling against teams with key players
It's not just the Spurs. You see it over and over again... an NBA team suffers a couple of key injuries, and the team is still compe ive.

You have to remember, even the 12th guy on an NBA bench is an amazingly good player and can dominate, say, a D-league game. If the opposing starters get it into their head "oh this is just a scrub, I don't have to play 100%", they will get BEAT more often than not.

You all act like the last 3 guys on a bench are really bad players. They are not. They are like 90% of the starters. You all act like they are more like 50% or something. There are thousands of players out there who are more than 50% of an average NBA starter. The guy on the bench is the best out of those thousands of players. If the opposing starters don't give 100%, but give 90%, guess what. The game is even.

It's called "Clipperitis" but it usually surfaces a bit later in the season.

Uh...you know these are the Spurs right. The Spurs are known to show a lack of interest and urgency when they play teams like the Clippers tonight. We've seen it time and time again. I hope its not the case tonight.

The one thing about terrible defense is that you cannot guarantee your teams victory against anyone.

    PICK UP THE "D" SPURS!!!
