nope Spurs lost to the Suns because they didn't have 3 point shooters (which we have this year) + Splitter
Cobbler got into foul trouble early on. Really hurt us on the defensive glass. I kid...

Yep, that hot shot rapist you got is sweet.
Congratulations, and welcome to the Rapist Club.
Sure, here's my hypothesis. It's called, sometimes great teams have off nights.
To suggest that "sandbagging" is a more plausible cause than the Lakers simply having an off night is nothing short of laughable.
But keep having your little sarcastic circle jerk with IronMexican. It's funny for the rest of us and serves to emphasize just how amateurish your understanding of the game is.
Tonight was a carbon copy replay of the first Minny @ LA game last year. Exact same thing. Minny hung around the whole night last year too and LA won by a couple buckets. Totally unsatisfying win.
I would describe tonight as the Lakers trying to find "what is the absolute minimum effort we can put in against this team and still win?"
I'd say they pretty much found out.
Good thing Minny sucks so bad (27 turnovers??) because any team with a modi of cohesion would've stolen that game. LAL played lazy, unprofessional ball tonight.
Oh, and hey, like I've been saying for the last year, Kevin Love can play on my team any day. I'd say the most underrated player in the NBA right now.
You can't do better than win.
which one is the rapist?
Neal.
If you seriously don't see how bad teams treat each Laker game like the NBA finals, while LA seems disinterested on those same nights, then I seriously question your understanding of the game. Yes, there are bad nights, but when you get out-rebounded by a wide margin (as they were in both games) while committing stupid fouls (LO and Ron-Ron tonight), that's not simply an "off-night." That's laziness and a lack of focus. Is it really that hard for you to understand? If I'm wrong then by all means, enlighten us oh wise one...
LOL if this team keeps playing like they do in the playoffs I can give a rats ass how hard they try in most of their games. LOL I think the timberwolve superstar players grabbed like 25-30 offensive boards. That my friends is what you call " it, we'll still most likely win if we dont play half as hard as our opponent" at ude hahaa oh well a W is a W.
What's funny is the Lakers are still in sleepwalk mode. Usually they ramp it up to coast mode sometime in December.
followed by hibernation mode in Jan-Feb. After that it's usually sprint mode from there to the Finals![]()
Other teams treating regular season games like NBA finals games has absolutely nothing to do with the argument at hand.
Laziness and lack of focus are actual flaws. Sandbagging is when one purposefully plays down to the opponent. San Antonio purposefully keeping Ginobili, Parker, and Duncan out against Denver a couple of seasons ago - that's sandbagging.
Having your stars out-rebounded and out-hustled is not sandbagging. Having Kobe go 12-28 is not sandbagging. He's not purposefully missing shots just to keep the game close.
I don't know how else to say it. If you can't discern the difference between the two with that example, then I'm done.
Your argument literally is "L.A. got outrebounded and we committed 'stupid' (by your perception) fouls, therefore L.A. sandbagged." That train of thought is not logical.
It's just as ludicrous as saying "Kobe shot 12-28 therefore L.A. was actively trying to not play at their optimal level (i.e. the definition of sandbagging)," which is why I brought that statistic up.
Then I guess you're finished. Bye now. Did you see me bring up Kobe's Shooting %'s in the argument? Offensive production is more a product of your ill-conceived argument (on-or-off night). Defense and Rebounding are all about hustle and effort. If you don't come with maximal (or even optimum) effort then I hate to break it to you--that's playing down to the opponent (you brought up the word sandbagging, not me). If you are trying to split hairs with this shallow argument, then yeah...I guess we're done.
I can't take this much stupidity.
Here, I'll be the man and let you have the last post (after this), you can finish the discussion with whatever meaningless babble you want. I won't hurt your feelings by picking apart your god-awful, nonsensical, illogical arguments.
"Rebounding/defense is about hustle and effort" followed by a definition of the term sandbagging/playing down to your opponent. That's...that's your rebuttal? Seriously? Dear ing lord.
When you posit an argument that makes sense, I'll be right there to offer a rebuttal worthy of it. Right now you're just coming off as a butthurt Laker-hater. Here's your argument: "The Raptors and T-Wolves (a combined 2-12) out-rebounded LAL by a combined 30 rebounds, but LAL mysteriously out-played and out rebounded a 5-2 team by 24 boards. Sure, the good game was sandwiched in between, but i'm positive LAL gave maximum effort and just had off-nights."
Yup, very plausible, convincing argument.![]()

By your rationale, I guess the Broncos just had an "off-day" against the Raiders a couple weeks ago, right?
