Top 100 Young Players in World Football, 2010 (Don Balon)

4 Nov, 2010 Jonathan F Africa, Asia / Oceania, Latest, South America
Here on Just Football we like to keep a keen eye on youth talent in football and emerging young stars of the game, as we did at the Under-20 World Cup in 2009 and the Under-19 European Championships in France earlier this year. So it was with great interest that we pored over highly respected Spanish magazine Don Balon’s most recent, eagerly anticipated Top 100 Young Players List for 2010. To meet Don Balon’s criteria all players listed had to be born after January 1st 1989 (21 or under on January 1st 2010) and, of course, pretty decent with a ball at their feet.

lol the fact that the list doesn't include Javier Hernandez makes it funny.... and it's not really being biased.. the guy is still young and has scored quite a few goals for Manchester.. :/

I mean the list has Vela and Dos Santos and they ride the bench so bad...

That's what I was thinking too, until I re-read the OP. The le for the article should be "Top 100 players born after Jan 1st 1989" or something like that. Apparently 22 isn't "young" anymore.

And he s all over pretty much everyone on this list (forwards at least)

    I DUNNO FELLAS

chichirato hasnt impress me much with his scoring...most of them are like tim cahill goals...right time at the right place situations when ball bounces of the goalie and in front of him....

Eh maybe that's true, but he's the first player since Hugo Sanchez that we can finally get excited about. Hopefully he has a bright future with a big club like ManU

What does Bale performing well against Inter have anything to do with Balotelli, or was your lost in translation?

To be fair, Balotelli himself did a bit of "pwning Inter" by disrupting the out of the team

Bale is on the list too, so I don't see your point how Bale doing well against Inter should invalidate Balotelli from the list. I doubt you can find 100 players under the age of 22 better than Balotelli.

Had to ask since typically say re ed so I was just wanted to make sure.

Some of that is true... but that goal he scored against Valencia in the CL and his backward header against Stoke City 2 weeks ago were no walk in the park...

Chicharito is the real deal, imho.

I've seen him score a lot of great goals, what happens is that he makes most of them look easy 'cause he has great ball control, also don't ever underestimate the ability of beign in the right place at the right time.

    Aimar, Saviola?

Aimar spent a lot of time in Valencia, won the league twice as the playmaker of that team and got to the CL final once. He played in two WCs. Now he's playing in Benfica.

Saviola played for Barcelona and Real Madrid but didn't have much success with either team, in Sevilla he won the UEFA league as a starter and played the '06 WC as a starter too. Now he's playing in Benfica with Aimar.

Last time I ever heard anything about him he was at Benfica (Portugal) but he's been loaned out a ton since then. Damn that hype train didn't last long

I remember when ESPN hyped him up to be the next Pele.

Does an Algerian national team even have any players born in Algeria?
