Yeah. I tend to think just the opposite. A diversity of views makes people more stubborn.

That's what they do to save face, but the research I have seen shows that quietly people do moderate their views..

Though it has potential, the forum in currently a huge waste of time. Mainly because of some well established trolls.
Several of which have already put in an appearance in this thread.
I'm not registered as either Dem or GOP, but I have found myself /facepalming most of the "conservative" arguments put forth on here. I was all about conservatism back in the day, but seeing how most people go about arguing for it just really makes my soft about it sometimes.
