The NBA’s Top 10 Power Forwards
    By Austin Burton
    Dime

    4. TIM DUNCAN, Spurs — Still the G.O.A.T. at the four, but his dominance is being doled out in shorter spurts now, like when he dusted off a vintage 25-point, 17-board, 11-for-13 performance to beat the Suns. Averaging 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks for the 6-1 Spurs.

I'd still put Duncan at #2. Maybe a tie between him and Gasol. Duncan is more consistent and still a better defender than Pau, who disappears in some games on the defensive end.

no way is Duncan better or even tied with Gasol at this point. and Duncan's defense is still great but he was exposed last year by the Suns who took him outside. he's not as good at defending the pick n' roll. gimme a break.

Suns have always ran the pick n' roll with success against the Spurs. Last year they had an extra advantage in have Frye a high percentage from three.

The top 5 are not really very arguable and they could easily be in any position at any given time.

After that the list is pretty terrible. Josh Smith shouldn't even be in this list. He's an exceptional athlete, but his 'game' is extraordinarily weak.

Also, both West and Aldridge are as good if not better than Bosh, Booz and Smith, IMO.

I'll bet you 100 bucks that 20 years from now people will look back and say Duncan was the better player than Gasol.

Gasol is NOT the best big in the game right now. The Lakers team is the perfect fit for him, that's why many people tend to overrate him.

Truly, Duncan and Gasol are four and a half's. But the way the game is played today, they're centers. However, if you're going to list them as power forwards, then they should be 1-2. Nowitzki and Stoudemire have no business being placed ahead of either.

And by the way, no, Josh Smith is not really a PF.

The way the game is played today, Smith is absolutely a PF. He's not a traditional, or even natural one, though, but he's a four all the same. Just like Odom, Jamison, Lewis, Harrington, etc., who all entered the league primarily as SF's.

I don't know. I mean, I see why the Hawks are playing Smith as a PF (after all, Horford is only 6-10 as well), but he still doesn't seem to be playing very 4-like to me (haven't seen that many Hawks games recently, though).
