I can't figure out what was more ignorant...the fact that they didn't know, and threw out ignorant answers, or the fact that that question was actually worth $1000.
If only the answer had been stated as " . . . this unexciting and really quite boring Spurs center is a 3-time NBA Finals MVP," then the college kids would have known the question.
It's amazing sometimes that the thing that Tim Duncan is most commonly known for is the fact that he's too boring to be better known.

Sofa king we todd ed
I'll give him points for originality
carmelo anthony... BULL
Who is Tim Duncan?: The Spurs captain received numerous e-mails this week with a link to a YouTube video of a recent “Jeopardy” quiz show that featured a question about Duncan. In the provide-the-question-for-this-answer format, the answer was: “This Spurs center is a three-time NBA Finals MVP.”
None of the three contestants provided the correct question, and guesses were Tony Parker and Carmelo Anthony.
“Not my greatest moment,” Duncan laughed. “Melo? Really?”

Video: Jeopardy! contestants can't identify Tim Duncan, doom entire nation
By Eric Freeman
The NBA courts youth culture more than any other major sports league, but sometimes that pursuit of young fans doesn't pan out. For proof, check out this clip from Jeopardy's collegiate tournament, which began last week and continues Monday night with the start of the semifinal round.
You would think that a bunch of 20-year-old kids would have been able to identify a three-time finals MVP at center for the Spurs, but Tim Duncan(notes) just doesn't speak to the kids today in the same way as one of those Justin Biebers, or the Pokemons, or whatever the kids are into these days. Maybe these bookworms would have had an easier time with the clue if Alex Trebek had mentioned Duncan's love of Dungeons & Dragons. Because that's what nerds like!http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/bal...urn=nba-285617
Sorry, but this thread was posted 3 times in the las 2 days already.
Tim Duncan has now become most famous for no one knowing who the he is.
"The most non-interesting man in the world"
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the girl student missed the question, but at least she incorrectly named a current Spurs player. The guy, on the other hand, should be horse-whipped. He even went so far as to guess a player from the wrong team.
Wrong team, wrong position, 3 times nba finals mvp carmelo anthony??? lol
I'm sorry if it has but I took a quick glance and didn't see a post with a similar le. Also, the source I had was from yesterday so I thought no one had seen it yet.
**looks again**
Now I feel stupid...

Lock this please.
And the rapist has personality? Every f'ing interview I see of him he tries to sound just like Michael Jordan.
I'll take Duncan's personality.. low key, thoughtful, and genuine any day over a mimicking parrot.

brand new, never-before-seen
I got it, who is another three thread like this?
I think there are 4 threads with this.
lol my bad i didnt see the other threads.. i guess kori can close this one then
lol I like how even Alex Trebec knew Melo doesn't play for the Spurs.
Duncan is a monotone mimicking parrot. At least Kobe does that in style. I'm willing to bet that if Duncan socked his wife in the face a few years ago, all 3 contestants would've known the answer the other day.
Yeah, I wish Tim Duncan had that kind of style, then he could be firing an assault rifle in a commercial and getting in trouble for it.![]()
Trebec always reads all the questions/answers beforehand and acts like he knows the answers on his own.
