Rush apologists will say he meant only to lampoon racist Dems. But I don't see how that is any proof against Rush disclosing his own bigotry at the very same time.
I just don't understand why a hero of the Conservative and Evangelical movements, someone that calculates his message perfectly to his audience, would put out something as foolish and seemingly mean spirited as this. There's no excuse for it or defense, but his supporters won't raise an eyebrow or voice to it like they do with the people on the other side of the aisle. It's so regressive.
I predict his supporters will refuse to address it except to say "it's just jokes" then try to change the subject to what they perceive as racism by Democrats.
I keep reading the article and I can't make the connection he's trying to make. First he says that Clyburn can be a driver for Massa Nancy if he loses but then he goes to accuse the democratic party for being racist for not supporting him. I don't get it. How does his comment about driving Nancy around sets up the accusations?

It would be interesting to hear the opinion of black conservatives. Black liberals will undoubtedly call it racist and I would speculate more on the grounds of hating Rush than actually being offended.
What is racist is Clyburn getting kicked to the curb in favor of the old "insider" white guy.
It's the Democratic congress's version of Affirmative Action...
