Rodman stealing DRob's thunder. The Admiral is the truth!
Ah, I remember it well. Thanks for posting.![]()
Haha, Sean Elliott.
lol, Zubaz ad.
Sean always laughs when he talks about this game. "Yeah, I personally gave him 5-6 of those blocks" He hated his year in DET so much, that the roadie in Motown is always one of the games he takes off from announcing every year.
this was the 05 finals right?
There are only four recorded quadruple doubles in the NBA and two of them are by former Spurs, David Robinson and Alvin Robertson.
Huh? DRob retired in '03. so no, that wasn't the '05 Finals.
that del negro layup at around :35 is.....wow.
Everytime I watch older Spurs highlights, I'm reminded of how often Rodman lifted both arms victoriously after mediocre highlights.
Again, not surprising that he reached for the spotlight as often as he did a loose ball.
Geez. Robinson was carved from stone.
Tim Duncan was two away against the Nets in the NBA Finals. I still fault Pop for not pursuing it.
Weird seeing Negele Knight wearing number 32 and seeing Sean on the other team.
I always say that this would have been the ultimate way to hand the team off. Tim Duncan replacing David Robinson as the last person to have a quadruple double in Robinson's last game. I am glad, however that this didn't happen. Robinson deserves to have one record that Tim doesn't break, if for no other reason than to have people 20 years from now remember that David was a pretty good player too. Plus the fact that Robinson is STILL the last person to get a Quadruple double makes it all the more impressive.
DRob is still my favorite Spur.
Tim hardly sat in that game. How did Pop "not pursue it"?
Also look for his nonchalantism on most plays. Spurs offense was 4 on 5 with him in the game.
He was too busy pursuing a championship
I don't blame him at all for that either, cruddy cruddy City and their team at the time was not very good either.
For a guard thats incredible! I know D Robs was great but man for a guard to get one is just crazy to me! Points, steals, assists and ? Did he get the rebounds because I know he didn't get ten blocks.
20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals
thx for posting. awesome.
Thanks for the vid, Spurs Brazil. Fantastic stuff! Brings back memories.
Funny to see JR Reid out there... I wonder what ever happened to him? Didn't stick in the NBA for long.
Watching that is a great reminder of how quick and athletic DRob was. A freaky thing though - in 20 years of watching the NBA, I don't think I've ever seen a game-long display of athleticism like Blake Griffin put on against the Knicks yesterday. Each dunk was better than the last. Seriously, watch that game.
+1, thanks for posting. Great video.
Great find in the youtube Archives. I forgot How high 5-0 used to sky. Especially for that rebound-dunk.
When I look at this now I see the differences in the way defense was played. Back then It really wasn't a focus. Nowadays, NOBODY lets you get under the defense, at least without an intentional foul.
It was totally weird to see Sean with that stance and layup form. It seemed almost surreal to see 32 for the Pistons.
