Spurs offense is predicated on having an outside threat, because it opens up the lanes for the players in the middle. But when they're only 1-7 from the outside, there's gonna be a clogged paint.

By definition, if outside shooting is designed to open up inside play, then the offense is predicated on scoring inside, and the outside shooting is meant to facilitate that. When the team shoots threes without even trying to to go inside, they have to shoot a ridiculous percentage to win. Ten three point attempts in a quarter and a half is a sign that they're settling for jumpers.
