And yeah, it wasn't just Matt off... Manu was off, Neil was off, Richard was off... we couldn't hit from outside. What's worrying is that it looks like we don't have a plan B. Going down low to Tim only brings double teams forcing more outside shots.

The good news is that you would think we can't shoot any worse in the second half...
But the defense is going to have to make strides. We can't give up another 55 points and expect to win.
There's an easy way to do that, and it involves not giving them 12 long rebound opportunities. If the Spurs keep jacking up threes at a prodigious rate, they'll give up 120.

Everybody is off. We've missed shots at the rim. , Splitter missed one in the first quarter that he could just as easily have dunked. He put it off the glass from six inches, and missed it. Ginobili and neal are both 0-3 from the 3P line, just like Bonner. It's not one guy's fault.
I agree that its not one guy's fault. The team as a whole lacked energy and focus. I think what hes trying to say is that Bonner one big positive is his 3pt shooting, when thats off his other contributions are a gamble, and in the case from the 1st half they were hurting us. Ginobili's off, RJ's off, but they have the ability to consistently contribute in other areas.

That's what happen when plan A is to shoot three pointers.

The Big 3 have to take over in the 3rd. Tim and Tony are very capable. Manu at some point will hit his 3's. If the Spurs can go on a 8-0 run to start the 3rd, the Spurs will win IMO.

Kevin Love with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Spurs have gotta stop that dude. And I don't mean Matt Bonner.

Bonner needs to spread the floor space between Love and potential offensive rebounds.

Not an excuse, but the officiating is bad for this game.
When the Spurs attempt 13 three pointers in a half and miss all but one of them, officiating isn't even worthy of mention.

Agreed. For both teams. Bavetta needs to retire. That call on the TP steal has to rank up there among the worst this season.

I understood your point. But you're attempting to minimize what a good rebounder he is by pointing out his 30 rebound game. You have to see the humor in that.
I'm not minimizing it, I am explaining it . . . and I see the humor in everything.

Love and Darko were gonna have a good night anyway. They are pretty much beating us by themselves. The Spurs just need to start hitting some shots (I sound like Pop) but its true.

The Spurs got a lot of deflections that could have been steals, but the bounces went to the Wolves. They also got some good steals, that they promptly pissed off by rushing things on the other end - making bad passes or bad shot selections. That will always give the opposing team a lift.

They also went to the paint early in the game and didn't get any whistles. They definitely didn't get rewarded for being aggressive.

Finally, they missed a lot of open shots. Give credit to the Wolves for the ones they defended. But there were a lot of shots that were wide open, and the Spurs just put up bricks.

This 14 point lead is nothing, if the Spurs play their game in the second half, and if they get the benefit of a few calls. They could have it down to 6 points in the first couple of minutes. Jeez, a 14 point defecit at the beginning of the fourth quarter isn't an automatic win for Minnesota. But somebody is going to have to step up. Usually I'd bet on that being Manu.

You explained his bloated average with his historically dominant performance. I'll relent if the Spurs can make him look less like Wilt in the second half.
