Lebron went back to Akron during the off-season and nothing changed, he was met by thousands of people and did his usual charity work..people in Akron are known to have a rivalry with Cleveland, even Steve Kerr just said it, if you bothered to pay attention and ignore your hate..

I'm from Akron, we all hate Lebron. The only part of Akron that likes him are people in the ghetto who take his free bikes each summer. Anyone with a job thinks he is a piece of .
There is no rivalry between Akron and Cleveland. If you are from Akron, you are a part of Cleveland/NE Ohio
believe a guy that spent 26 years in that area....everyone hates him. He went out to the Valley in September and they asked him to leave because fans were yelling at him. Thats in Akron. Akron hates him except the ghetto
The attendance at bike a thon was MUCH lower than usual. I think less than half but i can double check. And according to people from Akron, there isn't really any hard core rivalry and they don't know WTF Lebron was talking about with the BS. They may have the normal small city/big city dynamic but it is not even remotely as "heated" as Lebron makes it out to be.
And the announcers just parrot what they've heard.

That's an article from today..I found 4 other articles in 30 seconds that talk about how much Akron loves Lebron, and they're all from this week..AKRON -- It's the question that has grabbed media attention across the country: what type of reception will LeBron James receive from Cleveland Cavaliers fans tonight?
In his hometown of Akron, James still has legions of loyal fans. While in high school at St. Vincent - St. Mary, James became a media sensation before he was the top draft pick in the 2003 NBA draft.
"We love LeBron in Akron," said Donzella Anuszkiewicz. "We do not hate him. I know that's one of the chants that is supposed to (happen Thursday night). Those fans don't speak for all of Akron."
Even LeBron's hometown supporters admit disappointment in the way LeBron kicked the Cavaliers to the curb. But they said even the way James handled his decision to leave Ohio doesn't taint his generosity to Akron.
"He's done a lot of good things down here for the kids with his bike-a-thons and Thanksgiving dinners" said Marian Basone, owner of the Lockview Restaurant & Lounge. "I hope everybody shows some class. And I hope (the Cavaliers) win."
