NBA Hoops: San Antonio Spurs vs Philadelphia 76ers

San Antonio losers of three out of their last four games are entering Philadelphia in desperate need of a win
. The Spurs are still hoping to get the top seed in the Western Conference where nine teams are separated by six games and of course, the Houston Rockets have won an unreal 21 consecutive games. BetUS.com has the San Antonio Spurs as -3.5 NBA betting favorites in San Antonio Spurs vs Philadelphia 76ers.

San Antonio will need their big three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker to step up. Role players Bruce Bowen, who will return against Philly from a one game suspension (I may add Bowen started 500 consecutive games prior to the suspension) Michael Finley, Damon Stoudamire, and Kurt Thomas must also bring their A games if San Antonio hopes to get home court throughout the Western Conference playoffs. BetUS.com has the TOTAT at 177.5 points for San Antonio Spurs vs Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers have been playing excellent basketball and now are only two games under .500 at 32-34 which is actually pretty good in the East. The new AI, Andre Igoudala is having a career best year and so is big man Samuel Dalembert. Andre Miller is quietly having an excellent season while young prospects Thaddeus Young and Louis Williams have been playing well lately which has propelled the Sixers to win 8 of their last 10 games. If San Antonio wants to prove they are still the team to beat in the west, they must beat Philadelphia convincingly.

NBA Playoff Picks: San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Hornets

San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Hornets tonight is game 2 of their 2nd round playoff series will be a chance for redemption for San Antonio who was trounced 101-82 on Saturday. For the Spurs to even up the series they will need their big three of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili to play the elite level basketball that they are capable of playing. Sportsbook.com has the New Orleans Hornets getting -2 chalk in the San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Hornets NBA playoffs game.
One of the problems the Spurs are having is containing New Orleans point guard Chris Paul, the unheralded MVP caliber terror who is averaging 23.3 points per game in the NBA playoffs. San Antonio defensive specialist Bruce Bowen did a good job of containing Paul in game 1 of their NBA playoffs series, but Paul did a masterful job of getting the ball into the hands of his 6'9" forward David West who dropped 30 points on the Spurs. THE OVERUNDER in the San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Hornets game is 182 points.
The San Antonio Spurs (39-46-3 ATS) are a well known public team but they have looked a shade slower than the young, undervalued New Orleans Hornets who have been profitable (54-32-2 ATS) all season. One especially eye popping stat in New Orleans favor is the fact that they are an outstanding cover team (22-7 ATS) at home in their last 29 games. New Orleans proved in game 1 of their NBA playoffs game that they have more speed and energy than the Spurs and it’s hard to see anything changing.
