no, but close..we'll see what happens after this, tbh..
This thread has nothing to do with getting more basketball discussion, btw..it is to keep the entertainment level up..it's aimed towards Spurs fans for the most part..the Spurs fans that somehow get trolled by Lakaluva's Duncan schtick and Culburn's Neal schtick in every thread, thus causing spam and repe ion, to go along with mediocre counter threads..
How is my Kobe-Mike Jackson thread bad?..it was in the news, so I made a thread about it and opened a serious discussion about 2 of the most discussed incidents of our time..
Clearly creative..
the whole nba forum here can't be taken serious..it's like a big troll contest here...
this is a special forum, i've never been on a forum like this. if you're looking for serious nba discussion, look somewhere else.
This has nothing to do with serious basketball discussion..
I agree.
A call to action to remove the board's biggest troll: midnightpulp, self-designated troll spammer, has degraded this forum long enough. In reality he should just be banned, and not even just because it would create a more enriching and engaging forum but just for his own mental health. I've come across some 'crazy's' on boards over the years but this guy takes the cake. I used to think Cholo on ESPN was the worst until I came to Spurstalk.
didn't read first post...sry. i agree with you. posting the same 100 times is annyoing as ..
what also annoys me are all these lakaluva (?) threads.. who the f is this guy and what makes him so special that everyone has to start threads about him?? i've seen him having a real annoying avatar and his trolling attempts are just poor...
If you look at the home page, it says, "NBA Forum. Discuss the latest NBA news, rumors and action. Also the place to go for the WNBA, Euroleague, D-League and everything else basketball."
I'd like to know what Michael Jackson has to do with Basketball.
whaaaa?...how old are u like 12?....
no its not NBA!!

The article in question is about the relationship between Kobe Bryant and Michael Jackson..Kobe Bryant is a basketball player, in case you have never heard of him..
If you haven't noticed, the Parker/Barry thread got moved to The Club, and that had far more to do with basketball currently, since it could potentially affect Parker's play on the court.
Nothing says, "raise the bar" like turning the NBA forum into a reality TV news reel.
I've basically given up on the NBA section.
Maybe, and hopefully, it gets better again someday. But it doesn't look likely, at least anytime soon.
I will say this, it's not just Lakers fan's fault or grey named Spurs fan who react to Lakers fan or Mavs fan. It's pretty much everybody. Definitely a case where the inmates running the asylum finally blew the place up.
Kobe Bryant himself said that Michael Jackson affected his basketall game..Kobe is one of the 10 best players of all-time..his relationship with one of his primary influences deserved a thread IMO..
I think it's time that a mod is finally put in place..
I have a few posters in mind..
Just give up already. Your anti Kobe/Laker bull is the longest running non basketball repe ive diatribe there is on this forum.
Your hypocrisy has no boundries and you of all people starting a thread like this is beyond comical.
A thoughtful message doesn't require delivery from a thoughtful messenger.
You might not like HarlemHeat and you can think he's a hypocrite. You can find irony in him starting this thread, but he's right. The NBA section feels like it's hit rock bottom, and this after a summer where it already felt like a really low point. Everyone is accountable.
Great. Did you start a thread to talk about the impact that Michael Jackson had on Kobe's life as a player? No. You made a thread discussing their sexual assault charges, which has absolutely nothing to do with the game of basketball or any impacts surrounding it. It MIGHT have been relevant for the NBA forum in 2003 when it was happening, but it would have been a stretch then, as well.
It's 2010. Move on. Alternatively, don't criticize others for bringing the forum down when you're making such threads.
Yep. It's been awful since the trolls started to propagate and the threads that actually wanted to talk hoops stopped getting as many responses.
I'd like to point out that when someone like yourself leaves the NBA forum, it makes it very difficult for that forum to recover. We need MORE quality posters here to outnumber/deal with the trolls. The more people that actually put effort into their posts that leave, the less chance this forum has of returning to quality. Stick around... maybe it'll get better if more people follow your example.
Cobbler never posts anything basketball related, all he does is complain and bring up HarlemHeat and Ace's names in every thread..he's like the old lady that complains about all the noise going on next door..
While I have done my fair share of dirt, I have as many basketball related posts in the NBA forum as anybody here..it's all about balance..
I nominate either HarlemHeat37 or Jamstone or DPG to be the mod here..
No argument from me. I completely agree.
its bout to be a massacre the only thing thats gonna back you bas s up.
I nominate that Cry Havoc doesn't like people who refer to themselves in the 3rd person on the internet.
This. All posters here, new and old, are responsible for the current state of the NBA Forum. If you know a thread or take is ty and lame, don't respond to to it and it will fall to the next page...it's pretty simple.
IMO the Lakers winning the le the last few years has hurt the board. Laker haters are trying to come up with anything and everything to troll Laker fans so they can mask their team's shortcomings and inferiority, and an influx of Laker fans feel the need to defend the team. Look at all the threads (going back pages and pages), and that's what you'll see. We're all guilty of perpetuating it.
Cry, I didn't say I'm leaving. I was just basically saying I've accepted what the NBA Section has become. I'll still be here, but it's hard to find decent threads to post in. And I was never much of a thread starter myself. But I'm definitely not leaving. Just haven't really had much motivation to post much...
If the NBA Section got a moderator, I certainly don't want to be considered. As much time as I do spend on messageboards, I don't want to deal with the headaches involving keeping things in order. And to be honest, I'd pretty much leave things as is because I think everybody has the right to post whatever the they want, troll however the they want. The only things I would moderate would be obscene pictures and egregious spamming/flooding. And those aren't the only problems we have. The bigger problem is simply thread and post quality, and that sure is a hard thing to moderate effectively. That's why we're all accountable.
This place is just never the same when the lakers win.
I have posted many basketball related comments only to have them followed up by pages of wheelchair smack or posts similiar to the above.
I am a Laker homer. I support my boys. And I agree that pointing out you and your multiple alter ego's BS absolutely has about as much to do with basketball as your posts I respond to.
So here is the challenge Mr Hypocrite. You refrain from the anti Kobe/Laker posts and comments that have nothing to do with basketball and I'll refrain from calling you out for it.
Up for the challenge?
