Newton if he wins the NC.
Vince if he doesn't.

I have not been watching the games. I do know that VY hardly played into the 4th quarter. Some games, like KU in 2005 Vince played the first series, through a TD and sat the rest of the second half.
His numbers could have been record breaking if he had played all game.
Again, I don't know how GC is playing Newton. It seems like there have been a couple of close games. Any SEC team can give Auburn a run for their money on any given gameday.
In 6 of the 13 games, Auburn went over the 50 point mark. He didn't finish a lot of the games either.
Newton. He's doing what he's doing with a significantly less talented supporting cast.
Texas had better overall talent than Auburn does also. As mentioned above, VY's # probably took a hit because they were beating the out of everyone they played.
Newtons passes appear more accurate to me.
Poor jgw.
so you are saying Newton would have also crushed USC in the same/more devastating manner.
and actually, it's pretty close.
Living in Austin seeing VY play and being a SEC fan gives me a pretty good perspective on them. I would say Cam is a much better passer at this point in his career, maybe a better passer than Vince right now. As far as being clutch and hard to bring down on the run its a tie. I think VY was a little more elusive in the open field. Cam is bigger. Its close but I really think Cam will be the better NFL prospect. College players, I'd say its a tie if Newton wins the NCG and the Heisman.
if they played as ty, sure. unbiased viewers know SC could & should have blown t.u. away.
watch what he does in the nfl.
Newton doesn't look like any QB I've seen before. He's a freak. Vince was a freak too, but Newton seems like an ever bigger freak. Plus, he doesn't have that awkward throwing delivery Vince had. That's just based on what I've seen, not the actual stats. Stats wise, it does look close and does favor Cam a little bit. But just off watching both play and just the physical tools (not necessarily the football intelligence), I think Newton is better. There have been other college football players who had all the physical tools to be great, at different positions, but just didn't translate to the NFL for whatever reason. But just based on this college football season, I think Newton was the more impressive freak than 2005 VY.
unbiased viewers cam away knowing Vince deserved the Heisman over Bush after that game.
what they does in the NFL is irrelevant to what they do in college.
but we'll revisit again and see if Cam is an allpro after his rookie year in the NFL like Vince was.
true. but i'm saying he is better in college and also later in the nfl. and vyoung wasn't good his rookie year, that was a team award. jesus.
Offensive rookie of the year is not a team award any more than any other award is. And the whole ans team didn't go to the pro bowl......but Vince did.
Based on your posting style and off predictions, I'm betting you thought Leinart would be the better NFL QB. I'm betting you're butthurt that you're wrong about it because of the jesus bomb.
some wounds just never heal
He created a legendary thread "USC Greatness in the NFL" during Leinart and Bush's rookie years.
Now Reggie is an injury-prone punt-returner and Matt can't even find a place that wants his ass![]()
I thought I recalled something like that.
may need to revisit.
+1
He's a better pro prospect due to not throwing like a le.
And if we're talking about football intelligence, VY is excluded right away since he has none.
No question Cam is the more intelligent individual![]()
Vince is one dumb .
These two statements basically represent what I think. Cam and Auburn have to seal the deal for me to put Cam ahead of Vince.
Vince was amazing at extending plays, probably better than Cam is. VY, IMO, had a few more jaw dropping type plays than CN has. Finally, Vince played the single most unbelievable game I've ever seen a guy turn in on the gridiron against USC
I'll give Newton the edge in the passing department, as well as in the pro-prospect category. (Although I still think Vince can become a solid NFL QB if he can ever stay healthy). Numbers wise, he is a little better and put those numbers up against slightly better compe ion
As for being leaders, it's a wash. AU and Texas fed off of what they do/did on the field. As these players went, so did the team
And both of these guys were/are much better than Teblow... MUCH better
vince young haters treating Cam Newton like he's Black Jesus because they think that will somehow take away from VY's career.
Vince still put together the single greatest game in college football history, against a team everybody touted as the GOAT before the NC game was even played. And Chris Johnson/ ans Defense wasn't around for det one.
