I honestly don't understand what the people who are criticizing Dejuan expecting from Dejuan.
He's a 7 pts 7 rebs guy in his 2nd year in a team which is in the top of the standing and have 5 players average doubles digits. He plays 20 minutes in a night and 7 pts 7 rebs in Spurs. What were you expecting him? 10 pts 10 rebs in 20 minutes? Better defense? Better offense?
He's still improving his game and learning the Spurs. He's shooting free throws much better than last year. He steals the ball more than twice of last year. His foul/minute ratio is better than las year. And he's playing for 1M this year. Why aren't you happy? What do you want?
This is actually a good series of questions.

Dejuan is much improved over last season. However, I don't get all creamy when I see a good stat line. You have to see the game, watch the finer points of the person's play. DB has a knack for finding the ball, that's known already. He has improved his FT shooting (though he does rush that second one as he's anticipating getting back on defense it seems) and he's getting some minutes. He's not trade bait, that's for sure.

I used to critique Tim in the same way. Tim would bring the ball down in the low post and get stripped quite often, and that line drive shot is painful, but over the years you just accept he's worked on it over and over and it is what it is. With Blair, I feel strongly that he can probably be one of the best low post guys in the game, despite his height. I see things he can change, but then so do the Spurs trainers.

I am not here to change Blair, couldn't if I wanted to anyhow. I am here to tell you guys that his stats don't indicate the level of his game EVERY night. If they did, he didn't play so well tonight against the Blazers, but we all saw the game and I personally thought Blair was quite dominant. The stats won't show it though.

It would be refreshing to see some conversation around a player that didn't center on the box score. I suppose that would require someone who doesn't just glance at the score on occasion during the game, or flip over to it during the brief intermission in their video gaming.

Right, so based on Duncan's box score, he sucks and needs lots of work.

I don't think its alchohol so much as a rampant George Hill envy.

Warriors, Warriors, and Hawks. All small.

Maybe he can build his confidence and play better against bigger teams.
Uh he has also dominated games vs. the LAL, Kings, and Denver since the Xmas holiday period all not small teams.
Blair can play against anyone (his reach for his size is incredible and his bulk can bully people around inside) if Duncan is also playing at a high level watch out.
