with melo on their roster, the nets could probably win 20 games total this season...that would be a win increase of +10. great trade for the nets if this goes through...

melo said he wants knicks not nets

    this rumor is terrible
Melo also said he wanted a extension first, and supposedly he also has never said he wouldn't go to bulls or nets just knicks are first choose. I'm all for Melo not go too the Nets, call me crazy, but with other teams in the east Celtics, Magic, and Heat, Nets are ed anyway till they move to Brooklyn with or without Melo. So I'd much rather keep Favors then trade him for Melo, Nets might suck now, but I can see Favors and Brook combo being better then Melo and Brook combo

Obviously. But at the time things were breaking, a good number of sources had it as a done deal. I tried to go back and edit the thread le but was unable to do so. As we saw, it progressed into a "framework is set"-type deal and then scattered even from there. There are still sources saying all of this is contingent in Prokhorov and Avery being able to talk Carmelo into signing the extension. Supposedly, people in Carmelo's camp have said that he's willing to do just so. George Karl skipped out on an appointed radio interview this morning, something that was set up for over a week and was to be part of an on-air charity effort. There's no denying that something is definitely buzzing with this. They're not out collecting 1st rounders and swapping players just for the sake of doing so. It's between them and the Knicks and, right now, the Nets have the better package and are awaiting word on the extension.

I wish it were possible for people to grow the up and understand how these things work sometimes instead of claiming someone "owned" someone else or that an association with a favorite team has anything to do with a process like this. But it's the Internet and Spurstalk. It's to be expected. Maybe next time.

I think he was just saying that the deal wasn't happening. I didn't see him calling you out. Anyone who does is just ing you.

Personally, I don't mind seeing threads like this, especially if there are sources to back it up. It stimulates a lot of actual basketball discussion, even if most of it in a thread like this would be LOLing at the thought of Melo destroying his career in New Jersey.

It was a nice find at the time, and if you hadn't posted it Shank, someone else definitely would have.

Just posting a thread relevant article that I did not see posted yet. I'm not saying "owned" or that starting this thread was premature. It's fine. Relax.
