even if you only have ten dollars left to your name, go see this movie.
christian bale might of just won himself an oscar
haven't seen it yet but I've heard good things about it and it is crazy the transformation Bale will put his body through for roles:
The Machinist (a skeleton) to his next movie Batman Begins (200 + pounds)
now The Fighter (skinny) to The Dark Knight Rises (Batman shape again)
movie was not that great at all, imo. bale's performance is pretty awesome but i was completely underwhelmed overall. there was nothing fresh about it really, which was disappointing since it's getting some acclaim. best scene was when ey and his mom were in the car after she picked him up from the crack house.
I do plan on seeing this movie

Saw it last night. Great movie. If you are going to watch a movie about boxing then you will be very disappointed.
sorry i didn't think this is the best thing since sliced bread. if you do, good for you. 4/10 tops from me. the sisters did make me laugh though.

I kinda agree with this...I went into the movie not knowing much, but for a while it was hard to tell where the movie was going. It just felt like an unusual plot, but I couldn't even tell you why. However, Bale was amazing in this movie.
Just hand Christian Bale the best supporting actor now. Seriously.
For those of us who can't stomache Marky Marks weak acting and character (lack of), is there enough to overcome him?

why couldn't bale use some of these talent he used in the movie for batman?
Wahlberg was decent enough in this film...but Bale stole the show. He is so much better when he is actually acting and not grunting.
It was a great movie. One of the better boxing movies I've ever seen, because it wasn't really a 'boxing' movie.
Marky Mark did a fine job and Bale, IMO, over acted in this role.

Did you stay to see the real brothers during the credits? In listening to the older brother for just that short time, it made think that Bale hit the character pretty much dead on.
So the character was an over dramatic character. I know some of those people personally. Over dramatizing everything.
Movie of the year. Bale was amazing. I thought Amy Adams was surprisingly good too.
