A 'Brooklyn' slogan that looks like graffiti? Appropriate perhaps, but not really a selling point.
http://www.theatlanticwire.com/featu...Team-Name-2781Nets Daily, which broke the story, notes attorneys from the Philadelphia law firm Pepper Hamilton "sought trademark protection for the name, "Brooklyn New Yorkers", three logos featuring either a basketball or a basketball player and the Brooklyn Bridge and even a slogan, "We Come to Play." In each case, the trademark sought is for clothing including among other things: shirts, jerseys, jackets, athletic uniforms, headbands, hats, caps and footwear." Additionally, the domain name brooklynnewyorkers.com was recently registered through a proxy service.

It looks like and the name is pretty stupid smh
Such a shame for the Nets.
Something wrong with the Brooklyn Nets?
Lets hope that there are no wheels to this.
On the bright side, the Nets can't get any worse.
That's the worst name I have seen since the Houston Texans.
We're not using Chaparals anymore...
or just the elimination of that team are better than the "new workers"
This a joke right..
Yeah, at first I thought The Onion was doing their thing here, but the article cites multiple other links saying the same.
Depending on the color scheme picked, the graffiti motif might look okay. But the name makes me want to york.
What about the Brooklyn Boobs?

What about
"No idea Nets"?
Starting 5 for the Brooklyn New Yorkers:

Damn i never liked the changes in the NBA
New teams, new cities blah
Youse guys don't know . I can't wait to buy some hat dogs and cuoffee from the new arena.
Is this Spurs related ?
Something like the New York Empires would be better. But its not so bad. I don't like the graffetti look to the word Brooklyn in the logo. Brooklyn is also not a city so it should not be in the team name. I like the bridge and world basketball logo.

We gotta have a 5th name in there to make it truly epic.
How about Gay/Love/Head/Boykins/Sessions?
Meh. Gave it a shot.![]()
How about the Brooklyn Rats?
... after the Brooklyn arena complex developer Bruce Ratner.
And SpursTalk is still holding it's breath in collective suspense, waiting for Glenn Holland to make his first worthwhile post.
My thoughts EXACTLY!
Both are freaking "give up" names.
Brooklyn Bums sounds about right ....
