Marcin Gortat is Sick of ESPN’s Excessive Coverage of the Miami Heat

Marcin Gortat, the Polish center who was traded from Orlando to Phoenix this week, is sick of ESPN shoving the Miami Heat down everyone’s throats:

You know what, I ain’t watching ESPN anymore. I ain’t watching ESPN unless there’s a game. When the Miami Heat had this losing streak, people started talking less about them, and that was the right time to start talking about the different teams who are really good like the Boston Celtics, San Antonio. Now you’ve just got to hope that this losing streak’s going to start today.

ESPN is just thinking of its target audience here.

Think about it, the vast majority of Heat fans are band-wagoners who weren't really fervent supporters of the Heat before the Lebron/Bosh trade. It's no different here on Spurs talk. Whenever I see a Miami Heat fan talking trash, the first thing I do is check their join date. If it's after Lebron/Bosh joined the team, I'll just laugh my ass off and know that I can ignore them from now on. I don't give a about some face bandwagoner's opinions. Band-wagoners need the constant stimulation and reinforcement that ESPN provides.

The rest of the world doesn't give a , and rightfully so. I wouldn't expect the Mavericks or Spurs to get more media attention than the Heat, but even the two time defending champion Lakers aren't getting nearly as much play as they probably should be getting.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Any non-homer with an iota of sense for the game can tell that the team to beat out east is Boston.
