Mavs would be UNstacked, IMO tbh

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3917505The New Orleans Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder have completed a deal that sends center Tyson Chandler to the Thunder.
The Hornets are 10 games over .500 with Tyson Chandler and just a .500 team without him.
The Hornets received forwards Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox in exchange for their best interior defender.
Thunder reject Chandler; trade off
After examining Chandler's left big toe, Dr. Carlan Yates, Oklahoma City's team physician, determined that the risk of reinjury was too great to give Chandler a clean bill of health. He therefore advised the Thunder to rescind Tuesday's trade that landed them Chandler for Joe Smith, Chris Wilcox and the rights to DeVon Hardin.
Mavs would be UNstacked, IMO tbh
Dirk would already be demanding a trade bc mavs would be hovering around .500
Mavs would still be around the top of the West with a good record... but it would be almost entirely reliant upon the offense (like the Spurs)... which would probably lead to another second round exit.
amazing how Chandler has single handedly turned that team around
it only amazed me because the mavs got done such a good deal. C used to be their shortest stave before TC, so after TC joined their squad and fixed the weaklink they immediately turned elite. I was also a bit disappointed that they didn't get LBJ but the recruitment of TC was a fine compensation.
and i still remember some re ed mav fans acting mad upon TC's arrival. they thought they could have got Iggy or some other G/F who are clearly better than TC individually, and that TC had a history of injuries which definitely counted against him.
they just got the right guy for the right position, imo, which however doesn't mean TC was that good to escalate an average team up to the elite level. the same time last season the mavs were struggling around the table, after got done the Smokey-Buter+haywood deal they looked so much better and got the 2nd seed eventually.
its the shortest stave that determines the capacity of a barrel, for mavs it had always been the C.
