If Duncan would go for Center or 5 then he would easily be the second in the West (Yao will never be topped with a billion Chinese voting)
How do the coaches pick the reserves? Is it by position? Can they choose TD for center? The center choices are terrible. Bynum's going to start and he's only played a couple of weeks.
Normally the NBA always put Duncan in the right category (Forward or Center) so that he was voted into the All-Star game. We'll see what happens ...
Pau Gasol made his first all-star game as a "center" when he was with Memphis. Duncan could make the game as a reserve center.
Chris Celtics (Heat) 260,007![]()
Starters should be:
West
CP3
Bryant
Durant
Gasol
Chandler
East
Rose
DWade
LBJ
Amare
D12
easy breezy.
Tim Duncan isn't looking like an all-star this year so far......
fify. I'm not saying this as a Mavs-fan, just from a general view. Dirk has been outstanding so far. IMO better than Gasol.
Other than old times' sake and a streak, Duncan has no business in the AS game. We rest him in ones that matter, not to get him to the AS game. He can go for the Finals MVP... that's fine.
Dirk is a monster. Gasol isn't close to Dirk.
The fact that Kevin Love is so low on the list is a testament to the fact that it's a popularity contest, and has nothing to do with individual performance this year.
Anyhow it's stupid because you can vote every day. There should be one vote per voter, and I don't see any reason the fans need to make those decisions.
It's a business though, customers are always right.
Duncan was listed as a Center only once on the All-Star ballot, in 2007-08. The Spurs registered a complaint and he was moved back to Forward. He's always listed as a starting Forward for games, that's where he's always been listed for All-Star voting.
totally forgot about dirk!
haha i guess i think of him more as a 7ft guard. But yeah definitely Dirk > Gasol.
Exactly, he deserves to be a lot higher Imo. so underrated. Parker deserves to be higher on the list, and CP3 should be lower.
Ming with all his chinese votes, what a joke.
From the looks of it, Ginobili's getting respect from fans, but I still don't see how Chris Paul gets more votes. I've accepted that Kobe does just because of name recognition. I'm surprised Blake Griffin hasn't gotten more votes bc of the year he's had. Figured he'd be an all-star.
Kevin Love being so low on the list is indeed a joke. And don't even get me started as to how Jason Kidd's ahead of Tony Parker. Come on now, this is almost 2011. Who the is Jason Kidd?
Tony Parker should make the All Star team, but its highly unlikely!! He is balling right now...he is one of the main reasons Pop can speed up the game for them! His team has the best record and he's doing it at a high level, gotta appreaciate that!!
Tim should have admitted that he's a Center.
Manu's cooling off just in time for All Star picks. Part of me would like him to get some individual recognition in this league for the work he's done (more than a one time all star and being a sixth man) but part of me hopes he doesn't get picked. Besides he has a whole summer of basketball coming up anyways.
How many centers in the league routinely shoot the 18' jumper from the top of the key?
Exactly.
What is Blair?
What was Robinson?
What was Mohammed (other than a prophet)?
What was Rasho?
What is Tiago?
Are you saying the Spurs play two centers?
Tim's recognition will be in the form of HOF. The class he will enter with will likely include Shaq.
So, Tim's HOF speech:
"Thanks"
Maybe they should register another complaint to get him moved back to center.
In all seriousness though, what are the odds we see all 3 members of the big three making the all-star game (at least as reserves, which the coaches get to choose) this year, especially if the Spurs continue to win at this pace?
So how does this work? How many of these players will actually be at the game?
duncan, pau and nene makes perfect sense for center...
