I wasn't the one completely writing him off after 2 minutes of play. I swear you make no sense sometimes.
You love small sample sizes.
Also, that is the GNSF equivalent of saying "player x is ting on ST".![]()

No, but you hype up Roddy and his limited minutes, then you say DoJo, after slumming it in the d-leauge, is showing the haters in limited minutes against the worst team in the NBA.
TBH, he is just comfortable playing against D-League caliber opponents.
At least I wasn't cursing Donnie and Cuban after Jones didn't come straight out of the DLeague and start raping.
After he made one poor play you rushed to find a link like it proved Cuban and Donnie made a monumental mistake by not drafting a player who is currently injured. Everytime he gets PT, Jones at least shows that he wants to take the ball to the basket, which is something Mavfans cry that we don't have enough of.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, no. I think you need to go back an re-read the thread. I posted a link because Sribb brought up that comment and didn't know who said it.
Oh, ok.
But tbh the only one that compared DoJo to Dwade in that article was Jones himself.
Dojo is still rough around the edges, but he has proven he has what it takes to play in this league. No one is anointing the guy as of yet, but Mavs fans hope he'll be decent enough to make up for the loss of Butler (hoping it's short-term). I still don't think Carlisle would play him against an opponent better then Cleveland.
Haywood is pissing me off with his girly bull every time he gets a second to talk with Jamison. Just how tight was that dumb ing Wizards crew?
up 10 after 3
lets finish
10??? It was a 17 point game a few mins ago. I'm gonna have to tune in again.
Damn Hickson can you hold onto the ball??
Cavs have no shooters on the floor and they up against a zone...
before this game dude had a negative -/+ tbh, like -0.2 or some![]()
If only Hollins went through Barea trying to block that shot.
Congratulations Mavs. You still are better than the Cavs and they won 60 plus games last year.
Any contender want Jamison, he can score on the Mavs.
Jones did? Then he's already better than Barea.
Marion looks good everytime I've seen him this season.
Good game Cavs,
Great job Mavs, way to salvage something on this mini road trip.
Now let's head home and hopefully get healthy
DALLAS -- Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said they ranked Dominique Jones as a top-three shooting guard in the draft and had him higher on their draft board than Big 12 scorer leader James Anderson, who was selected 20th by the San Antonio Spurs.
The Mavs tried to move into the middle of the first round to get Jones, but unwilling to give up a 2011 first-round draft pick, the Mavs felt fortunate that Jones slipped to No. 25 where Memphis could make the selection on behalf of Dallas for a cost of $3 million.
Jones was mostly rated as a late first-round to early second-round selection by media analysts, and Carlisle acknowledged that the Mavs valued Jones more than other teams and "had him rated higher than a lot of people did."
Jones, who plans to wear No. 20, was flattered that the Mavs would spend $3 million to get into the first round to acquire him, but he believes he'll pay off. Asked how he would compare himself to Oklahoma State's Anderson, Jones said: "I think I was better. But, like I said, success isn't in the beginning. Nobody has reached success; no John Wall. Nobody has reached success. Success is in the end. This is just the beginning for everybody in the draft and I'm very comfortable with my situation and my team and I'm just ready to go."
Jones said he sees himself as cross between Miami star Dwyane Wade and Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey: "Just getting in the lane, strong body, getting contact, and-1s. And, I feel like the D-Wade style, which is transition, getting out in transition, one-on-one transition, you know, basically being unguardable."

I'm having a hard time finding fault in his quote. He admits more than once that he has yet to reach any sort of success, that he's just at the beginning of what may be a long process. His quotes say that he tries to emulate what Wade does. The description isn't about himself, it's what he sees in the way Wade plays the game and how he wants to be that sort of player one day. In other pieces and interviews, he comes off as a determined kid that realizes he has a lot of work ahead. He's confident, but humble.
I smell butthurt
I didnt really read it that way.. but i guess i can see a little of what you said in there. I just find it a little off-putting when rookies start talking about being better than other guys when they havent done anything in the league yet - especially when Anderson was the Big 12 player of the year. A bit like Cousins talking about Favors then going out and shooting 40% for the first 20 games of the season. Maybe its the 'classy Spurfan' in me but he probly should just talk about his own game rather than putting himself above other guys.
The part that made me lol about the D-Wade bit was the 'pretty much ungaurdable'. Plus there plenty of other guys who are similar to Wade but not as good.. that he could have compared himself to.
Eh, the kid wants to be like Wade. No harm in that. He's really not a y bas , at all. Good dude. Smart, hard worker, not trying to be something he's not.
