Arkansas had it in the bag. He should have just threw the damn ball out of bounds instead of panicking and making a ridiculous pass like that. however the real blame should be placed on the jackass who fell on top of the blocked punt instead of picking it up and running into the end zone with it. there were no OSU players anywhere near him at the time and he had about 3 or 4 Arkansas players behind him.

he looked to be more concerned with celebrating before he even touched the football and his decision to do so largely contributed to Arkansas losing the game. that's a sign of bad coaching. you should be concerned with securing the ball, realizing your surroundings, etc. ... not worrying about celebrating before the play is over.

Natural instinct is to just fall on the ball. That's what coaches teach - fall on top of loose balls. Don't try and pick it up, just fall on it and secure possession. In hindsight, yeah he should have picked it up and run, but any player's initial reaction is going to be to fall down onto the ball.

Ohio State got lucky to win last night- real lucky. But after all of the bad breaks they've sustained in bowl games against SEC teams they were owed one.

I think its funny that all five of those who came under scrutiny in the selling of stuff managed to play integral parts in the victory. With that being said, Mallett should really learn not to try to force things. In my mind, he reminds me too much of Ben Roethlisberger sans the improvisation and up to this point, bathroom stall antics. We'll see if he comes or stays for his senior season. He isn't Andrew Luck and well, there aren't many people in the FBS are at this point.

From the first play of the game being a dropped TD pass to all the other drops Arkansas beat themselves truly.

Still in shock we dropped so many. But few people realize our #1 receiver in Greg Childs missed the last several games including the bowl.

Hogs deserved to lose dropping the ball as if it was a skunk being thrown to them. That alone changed the score.

I'm happy Mallett is leaving for the draft now. He still hasn't learned the concept of throwing the ball away when nothing is there. But other than that fact he is the best QB bar none in the draft. He's bigger and stronger than the rest, better velocity and accuracy.. there's really no comparison. He is the definition of a pro style pocket passer and will have a successful NFL career.
