This was a campaign fundraiser her opponent had during the election. I seriously doubt this is related to today's events, but it does look bad in light of what happened.
Well, regardless of the assignment of blame -- let's hope this ratchets down the rhetoric a bit. Some spin is predictable, but hopefully it doesn't make things worse.

Does Arizona have a CDL law? If this is the case, gonna be hard for gun control advocates to spin this any other way than the CDL law likely saving lives.

Yes. One wonders, though, whether the first prosecution will be under federal or state law. Attacks on federal officials (a congresswoman and a judge) are federal crimes.
Sounds incredible considering the description I'm hearing of her injury.
I hope that's the case. I heard she was actually talking going into surgery and that she's been responding since.
She sounds like a fighter. I pray she survives and that her injury doesn't preclude a normal life.
