The 99-00 Orlando Magic, I'd argue, had a worse roster top to bottom than these Cavs, and they actually had a .500 record.

This seasons Cavaliers has to have the lowest amount of talent on its roster, or so I assume. Of course, my assumption is a bit off given the fact that I am not a real big history buff. Are there any former teams of the past that have showcased similar lack of talent, and proportionally sucked just as bad?![]()

The Spurs team that Tanked...
Have been following the NBA for just about more than a decade now and IMO the worst team in that time for me was this Denver squad which started guys like Vincent Yarborough and Junior Harrington for a substantial number of games and ended up with a 17 win record.
B-ball reference link - here.
Lest we forget: the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers team that went 9 - 73
The one where 4 of the top 5 players got hurt? Including current LAL Asst. Coach Chuck Person, who missed the ENTIRE Season. It's sad that the Spurs got a 20-62 that year and finished 3rd for the chance at #1.
What's sadder than that is that the LAL once had a team that went 33-49 even though all 5 of it's starters played significant minutes, including one James Worthy.
Then they chose to use that high pick to draft...EDDIE JONESx2
The 93 Mavericks are the worst team I've ever seen.
88-89's Miami Heat might have had the lowest amount of talent ever, being that they were an expansion team at the time.
Pick a season for the Clippers, and their in contention.
They beat the Blazers IN Portland that season. I was at the game.![]()
you really want to compare franchises. Okay, here we go
16 > 3 1/2
Contradicting logic.
If the Spurs had one of the worst talent in league history AND tanked, how come they finished no where near the worst record in the league?
lol drob hurt
lol everyone else fake hurt
trolled, tbh
As mono said, the early 90's Mavs were historically one of the worst squads to ever lace 'em up. They finished 11-71, and then only two wins better the next season.

well, duh!
You got it wrong, it was drob who was fake hurt.
The others were either fake or real hurt, depending on who you asked.
I mean, if a team was to tank, they would put their best player on the injured list, no?
At least the 93 Mavs had Derek Harper. This Cavs team's two best players are Varejao and Boobie Gibson, and Varejao is done for the season. How the did LeBron carry that squad to 66 and 61 wins?
The Mike Izzolino-era Mavericks and the 1997-98 Nuggets were the two worst teams I ever saw... before this Cavaliers team, that is.
Surprised nobody brought up last season's NJ Nets and their 12-70 record. I think even this Cavs team, as horrible as it is, will pass them.
Pop pulled the greatest troll job in nba history.
Talent-wise I honestly don't think they were even the worst team last year.
