Last I heard on the Ticket, he was gonna try to practice today and MIGHT give it a go tomorrow night...

...so, yeah, I have no idea if he's playing or not.

i hope he plays game is meaningless otherwise ...unless spurs cant beat a dirkless Mavs but even then I would attribute that to a letdown game ...

As for next week almost EVERYONE gets healthy when time to play the Lakers ... spurs been blessed (this year) with people being out when they play them and with great health themselves. stuff tends to even out over a season but Spurs have GOOD and lucky ...

Dirk remains more than iffy for Spurs. Mavs remain tight-lipped on his return. "Could be soon, could be a while," Rick C says.

Dirk Nowitzki spent Thursday's practice at Trinity University running circles around the court - literally.
He also put in a lot of time strengthening his lateral movement, jumping rope and various other cardio and agility drills.
There wasn't a lot of basketball involved.
This may not bode well for Friday's game against San Antonio. But it is another positive sign that Nowitzki - out since spraining his right knee on Dec. 27 - is closing in on a return. He's still technically day-to-day, but that's been the case for more than two weeks now.
"Dirk increases his workouts everyday and signs are positive,'' coach Rick Carlisle said after practice. "But it's very important that we focus on the guys we have available at this time and make sure that he gets back absolutely 100 percent healthy.
"We've listed him day to day because we don't believe this is a serious injury and he is making progress. On the other hand, we're going to maintain an extremely cautious posture on this going forward and like everyone else, we want him to be back 100 percent healthy as soon as possible. In the meantime, as a team, we must focus on the guys we have available and find ways to win games with them.''
That's been the mantra for the last eight games, but wins have been few and far between. The Mavericks are 2-6 in games Nowitzki has missed.

    Tyson Chandler on Dirk injury:

“The thing is you don’t want to rush anything," Chandler said. "I’ve been there, I’ve rushed and I’ve been on the sidelines in the same situation — watching my team lose, watching my team suffer. And then I’ve tried to jump back out there, and before you know it, something else is bothering you. So, we need him for the long haul. We don’t need him coming back early and causing any other effects to anything. We want him 100 percent.”

“I’m a very passionate person and I take every loss personally, but I would much rather have him [Nowitzki] down the stretch when it counts,” Chandler explained. “This is not the playoffs and we’re not winning any championships right now. But, you know, I’m not gonna kid you, it is built through the season. So, the thing we have to do is buckle down as individuals defensively and really try to turn this around. But we can’t look forward to Dirk, because I want him to be 100 percent before he comes back.”

    I do hope Dirk plays:

1)Spurs need to know where they stand (although Dirk in his first game back still won't say much). Still, it would be a solid win regardless.

    2) I want to watch a great game. Dirk vs Spurs is always great.

Of course I want to build a lead on the Mavs, so I'll take a win with Dirk out (hopefully), but I would rather Dirk be there.

they didnt luck out to that 20 pt beating against LA tbh.youre right though, there is always some luck involved...kind of like the 09' playoffs were Manu, KG, Yao, and Nelson were out for the PLAYOFFS. Or like last year's finals were Perkins was injured for the crucial Game 7.

hopefully the seven foot white jumpshooting cuckold plays tho
