when was the last time Duncan grab 15 rebounds in the finals. Let me guess either 1.) he never did it or 2.) you'll have to go back to the stone age...
Not to get into a pissing match, but...

he did it in the last Finals game he played.

Per NBA com in efficiency per 48 minutes Duncan still the more effective player and he has less wear and tear on his knees this year that the gunner that is Bryant and is remarkably close to him in overall efficiency rating. not saying that right now Duncan is the better player but the margin is not vast = Bring it on those that think Duncan is washed up.

I'm not trying to start no but has it been that long? Ok then how about 30 points. No can do? Then how about 20 points? Dam I think it's been a minute.

Memo to Tim Duncan most players can coast to the finish line but you're not one of them. Relying of players like Splitter and Blair is a disaster waiting to happen come play-off time. I know you want to rest your knees but you're not the kind of player that can just turn it on. Get with the program chief.

Not to be disingenuous but has Jimmy D ever scored 39 points in a game?

He's not really a dominant scorer so I have to wonder if he's ever done this....

IIRC he scored 53 in a game. I think it was against the Mavs. Long time ago though. I think I was still in the military back then.

To answer the OP's question, he had something like 27-28 pts against Denver. And didn't need the free throw line to get there. I think that game was back in December.

Getting swept by the lowly Suns in 2nd = better than losing to the Celtics in the Finals - Theoretically speaking of course...

I know. I can always tell a front runner. He didn't show up until after the Lakers won b2b. I heard the story is that he was getting crushed for being a re on the ESPN boards, so he decided to come here.

Doesn't matter when you lose. The fact remains, YOU LOST!!! Congratulations, you are the first loser!

And they lost with the best player in the whole wide world playing. How is that possible? I thought Kobe could take over any time he wanted to. Where was he in those finals losses? I KNOW!!! Lookin at white chicks.

So why did ElNono point to the fact that Tim has never lost in the Finals?

It's like a Clippers fan talking crap to you guys say "Ha at least we didn't lose to the Suns in the 2nd round!"

Simple, great players get the job done on the biggest stage in basketball. The NBA Finals is the biggest stage in basketball. Not the second round.

If your precious Kobe really was the best player in all of basketball, why does he have 2 losses in the biggest stage of basketball and only 1 Finals MVP in 5 Finals wins?

Tim Duncan has 4 rings, and 3 times he was deemed the best player on the biggest stage in basketball.

Kobe is nothing more than a Jordan emulator. He tries so hard to be like Mike, but Mike the greatest baller in history, NEVER lost in the Finals in multiple trips. Sounds like someone familiar methinks.

So great players can't win the 2nd or 1st round, that makes sense.

I guess beating the likes of

1999 Knicks - one of the weakest teams in the history of the Finals
2003 Nets - the 4th weakest team in Finals history
2007 Cavs - 1st weakest team in Finals history

is something to pump up furiously as major career accomplishments.
