I would be surprised if one of the victims' family or a survivor doesn't sue the pants off of Pima County and that Community College for the Sheriff's and College Police's failures to act on what is apparent they knew before Saturday.

Was there security? I haven't heard.

The only other person with a gun, of which I'm aware, is the shopper who emerged from the Safeway after all the shooting had ended and they were struggling with him on the ground.

On of the criticisms of both Sheriff Dupnick and the Congresswoman's staff is that, knowing Loughner's troubles, neither of them took the appropriate measures to safeguard the Congresswoman and those assembled at the Safeway that day.
I don't think there was any security on sight. They said it took a few minutes for the police to arrive on the sceene as the two guys held Jared down. One of the guys who had a gun decided not to use it but instead just held onto the dude. That's pretty freaken responsible. Most of us might have took it out, maybe even the guy.

I doubt anything would come of it. 30 years ago, the sheriff would be ably to stop such things. Not in today's liberal "feel good" and "understanding" climate. Law enforcement just has their hands tied too much these days.

I bet law enforcement violates and abuses citizens more than its hands are tied.

btw, spousal abuse is about 10% in the general population, but 40% in the law enforcement marriages. cause or effect?

I agree, law enforcers do abuse the laws. Generally when they don't think they will get caught. They can be the worse perpetrators. I have little respect for most police.
