not only is matt bonner vital for this team's spacing/offense, but he has greatly improved his rebounding/D to average at best.

    gutsy win by the spurs.

Without Matt Bonner the Spurs are forced to play small ball a ton so we always have at least 3 three point shooters and one playmaker on the floor with a big man.
Playing Bonner = playing small. Haven't figured that one out yet?

Spurs played the best game they have played in a while in my opinion. On both sides of the ball.

If anything, the offense didn't stutter at all. Neal basically covered the 8ppg Ginger puts out there.

Not only did they win big. They won on both sides of the ball against a team with a lot of fire power that was playing pretty well as of late.

The Spurs hit 14 in a row, but that would mean little if they weren't shutting down the Nuggets' offense at the same time. They went from 12 down to about that much up in a short time. Huge swing and that was the game.

Those 3s in the end were helpful, but Denver really turned on the offense in the last minutes of the game. Good that the Spurs held on.

Matt is a big part of the team, but if we cannot win without him, we are really ed.

it was just nice to see Tiago start a run with a great defensive play.

something you will never ever see from Bonner.

You also won't see Bonner land on his ass after a dunk with a few seconds remaining, up by 11.

Never say never. He did go on a dunking binge for a stretch there against the Knicks and Cs -- meaning a dunk in back-to-back games.

Antonio McDyess said he tweaked a knee in the first half but Denver, but doesn't think it is anything serious. #spurs

Matt Bonner (knee) did not practice and remains iffy for Wed vs. Toronto. #spurs

Thanks for posting that Spurs_Brazil. A few people said they thought Antonio tweaked his knee in the game thread. I missed it during the game. You think the Spurs have checked it out already?

Popovich would not rule out forward-center Matt Bonner for Wednesday.

Bonner, No. 2 in the NBA in 3-point accuracy (60 for 119), suffered a bone bruise in his right knee in the Spurs’ victory in Milwaukee on Jan. 12. Though he played the first half of the game against Dallas on Friday, he sat out Sunday against the Nuggets.

“It’s just a day-to-day thing,” Popovich said. “We’ll see how he feels today and how he feels on Wednesday.”
