Barea needs to channel his inner Boykins.
Nope, but this is a front end of a back to back
Barea needs to channel his inner Boykins.
tbh, the fact that the Mavs have been playing like a sub .500 team should raise the alarms in Lakerland...
The alarm bells have been disconnected now. We're level. The first seed is unattainable. The second seed in the West ain't the first seed, but, it has it's advantages upon gross examination.
The second seed overall is the ideal, the readily achievable goal.
Level? Lakers have lost more games to sub .500 teams than teams over .500...
You know, like that skunker against the best team in LA a few days ago...
I agree
But, the frost is off the pumpkin. There is no tangible threat to our legitimate quest for another three peat. There just isn't. At the half way point nothing has changed from last season to this season that cites such a signifigance.
This sounds like a postive reinforcement speech. How many times do you repeat this in mirror with your fingers crossed?
I didn't say we are a lock. I said we're legitimate to that end. Half way thru I don't see anything that threatens that legitimacy.
This feeling is based on the Clippers skunker or the OKC rebound?
Not so much from within, but, from the outside. Nobody has come to the fore with a confirmed protocol to beat us. The Celtics are loitering, but, if Wallace stays away they can't get there. That knee injury Perkins has is a two year process to recovery. He'll play this season, but, he won't impact until the '12 playoffs.
You guys don't have the length. And your bench experience is not up to snuff.
Hey, I don't hide my . If I saw something that concerned me I'd say it. It's the same teams trying the same with the same players, including us. But, we've rung with our same . Nobody else has with their same .
Your bench is experienced?
Actually, let me rephrase that: What bench? Odom seems to be your entire bench these days.
tbh, I understand. It's a lot easier to look outside when the inside looks so poor.
Yeah, our bench is experienced. Brown and Odom are both experienced. You ain't goin' to go more than 8 deep. Barnes has experience.
Your Neal & Anderson are rookies.
lol, comparing Spurs bench to the back to back defending champions
You have no backup PG. You're telling me Fish will play 48 mins? Where do I sign?
Brown is barely a role player. I mean, I could also say Bonner has championship experience, but you'll laugh up a storm (agreed).
Barnes has experience of choking in the big stage. Blake is already choking in the small stage.
And yes, Neal and Anderson are rooks. I think you're omitting a couple of non-rooks though![]()
I can easily compare because they've basically dismantled that and rebuilt. Farmar and Sasha both had the time in the system and experience, but they're both gone, replaced by Blake and Barnes.
tbqh, I thought they would be better than they've been.
Fish doesn't have to play 48 minutes to impact. He's impacted the last two Finals without fail.
Brown hasn't failed us the last two Finals. Bonner, and your entire bench has failed you the last three playoffs.
Giuseppe
w/ Lakers and Bulls in next 2 days, this can easily (and likely) become an 8 game losing streak
wow![]()

El desperately trying to convince himself that the Spurs actually have a chance to get out of the West. It really is endearing. I guess a bunch of meaningless regular season wins while singing Duncan's final song can do that to person.
Way to stay positive
Hows my application coming along my ?
I didn't even notice that Dallas has a current 6-game slide before Ghazi mentioned it.
Alas, this is not the last two finals. Father time catches up to everybody, including Fish. He's constantly abused by faster PG (if he even guards them. Last couple of games he didn't even guard the opposing PG).
To top it off, you still have no backup PG.
Farmar played more minutes than Brown the last two Finals. Sasha was not far behind. And this season's Spurs bench is not the same as last season either.
I'm just watching from above, and the only desperation I see is below us frantically wishing injuries on other teams so they can get the HCA they need to win a series... It's been 6 long years since the Lakers won a series without HCA...
