I would think that's a pretty ty deal for the Nugs. Gonna need at least 2 picks or another team.

what a ass offer

Not a great offer but what did the Cavs get? Or toronto they basically did sign & trades and got next to nothing for Lebron and Bosh. I really like Landry Fields. Only problem is he is similar to Afflalo if he resigns ...denver would have two, pretty damn good 2 guards and could trade one to address another need.
But I dont see how Knicks could expect to get Melo without Gallinari in the deal ...
I don't think this is a ty deal at all for the Nuggets. Chandler and Landry are studs, they're both young, Curry's expiring contract is huge, and they get a draft pick out of it. I'm curious to know what exactly the Nuggets want from the Knicks. Is it Danilo? Azubuike? The holdup can't be over Anthony Randolph--D'Antoni doesn't give the guy any minutes.
If it's Gallinari that the Nuggets really want, I can't see why the Knicks wouldn't make that deal.
and i agree i dont think it's that bad a deal ...problem is unless Gallo makes huge strides they get no potential "star". Chandler cieling is a 3rd option and probably so ifs Fields on a le contender.
I think what the Nuggs should consider if melo walks and that cant dump Al H and/or chauncey they ned some cost effective talent back in return. Even with this current offer you could flip any combination of: Fields, Lawson, JR, Afflalo, chandler or even curry's expiring to make a susequent trade.
I haven't really followed him much lately, but unless he's completely fallen off a cliff, I'd rather take a deal centered around Luol Deng from Chicago than I would Gallo + WC or LF.
he hasnt fallen off a cliff but he is more expensive and i dont trust dukies
If this is true then its safe to say the Nuggets are pretty confident that other teams will offer a better package or they are bluffing to see if the Knicks will come up with a better offer.
Interesting.
thats not a bad deal at all. landry fields and chandler with the expring contract of curry and a future first rounder. thats about as good as it will get.
If the Knicks can come up with one more first round pick, I think the Nuggets might bite. Chandler has played really well this season. He's not a go-to scorer like Melo, but he brings a lot of other things to the table. He could end up being a really good starting small forward in the league. But maybe they'd prefer if he were locked up for a few more years for cheap. Probably should throw in Randolph for good measure too.
Probably not considering no other team has as much assurance that they'd be able to get Melo to sign an extension. Maybe the Nuggets just don't want to trade him now and are trying to convince Melo to stay.
The Knicks really need to reconsider sending Landry Fields in this trade. He's the kind of player any team with playoff hopes needs on their team. Works harder than anyone on the court, is talented in all facets of the game. He's very much a Shane Battier or Jared Dudley type. Won't win games on their own, but makes big plays when the team needs it.
Gallo, Randolph, Chandler, Curry, and a pick for Anthony and maybe filler
That's not a bad offer at all given the cir stances.
Pretty good deal and they passed it up. Now watch Melo walk out of Denver this off-season
Galinari should be in that deal
He should stay with the Nuggets. They are in the better position to go further next season when most contending teams are going to slow down (Lakers, Spurs, Mavs). The Nuggets also have huge expirings in the form of Kenyon Martin ($16 mil) and JR SMith ($6 mil) and Chauncey Billups expires next season (13 mil), so they are not financially strapped to make some moves to improve its roster. I feel the Nuggets are a few pieces and a full health away from reaching the Finals.
That being said, I still think Melo will end up with the Nets or Knicks. Whatever sentimental reasons he has for staying with Denver probably ended the night Nuggets fans consistenyly booed him.
As was already stated, it's about getting good 1st round picks that allow your team to have talent on the cheap. Sure there are decent midrange game players for a few million, but when you can get some serious talent for rookie pay... and get a few of them, that's pretty good.
I think that's the bottom line for Denver. The rumored package before by the Nets which inlcudes draft picks from Detroit was just too good of a deal, I don't know what happened there but I'm sure the Nuggets execs are banging their head in the wall for failing to complete that trade. If greed was a huge part of it (insisting Al Harrington's contract) then they deserve this fallout.
Nugs are ed...and NY knows it...I want NY to stay pat...I think they have enough to upset Miami if they're healthy...next year Melo walks right into their arms...
Nug deserve everything their getting for thinking they could actually beat LA in a 7 game series...I say it's time for them to have a fire-sale...and we'll take that " Chauncy" off their hands...![]()
let the lowballin' begin... the Russian really ed them...
Gallinari/Randolph/Curry for Anthony. That's high risk, but high reward and Gallinari and Randolph were lottery picks. Each players per-36 averages bare out that they are worth the acquisition and worthiness of compensation considering the lateness of the trade.
Maybe throw in a future 1st for in-case measures...
