I don't really see how this is as bad as some people are making it out to be..if the Nuggets are really expecting more than that, they won't get it..

Ill Will is a solid starter that still has potential to get even better, and Landry Fields is obviously a solid player with upside..adding to that, they get the 1st round pick that they want..I really don't see how Denver will get a better offer than that, and if they're really expecting better, they're delusional..

They probably think they can convince Anthony to re-up, that's the only logical explanation IMO..

From what's been said about the Nuggets going back and forth on the terms of a deal with New Jersey, this is probably just more of the same.

But honestly, if I'm the Nuggets GM I probably don't make this trade either. Chandler is a good player, the Curry expiring has value, and you can always use a 1st round pick. But that's going to be a low pick once they get Melo. And how good is Landry Fields? I see people valuing him a bit like Courtney Lee was valued after the Orlando Magic went to the Finals. He's a good player, but how much of it is due to him playing in the system the Knicks run?

I'd hold out to see if the Knicks would be willing to part with a little more. Another pick, Randolph, or swap Fields for Danilo or whatever.

Why the would the Denver front office be chasing gallinari? What a waste, subs ute a high scori chucker with a lower scoring chucker. Great deal ujiri...

You do know that Curry is an expiring contract, right?

i think maybe denver doesnt want chandler because he is a free agent this offseason albeit restricted. fields is much better than lee. guy gets 7 boards a game as a starting guard and plays solid defense. he plays like a veteran. almost like a battier. nothing special but he is just a good player.

Fields is better than Lee. I was really just comparing the way he's being hyped to how Lee was hyped after the Magic's Finals run. I think Fields is a nice asset, but Melo is perceived (whether accurately or not) as a franchise player. Fields, Chandler or Gallinari, an expiring contract and a draft pick ain't enough imho. Gotta try and get at least Randolph and/or another pick.

If im NY i'd rather give up Gallo then Chandler, Gallo is just going to score, doesn't rebound or defend as well as Chandler and who needs Gallo if your getting Melo back in return who does the same as Gallo but better

Nuggets can wait until the offseason and get a similar deal from NY. Melo ISNT going to walk. He will be signing the extension, plus NY can't sign him outright to a max contract, unless they renounce some of their other players and let Chandler walk (which they wont).

NY can lowball all they want, their players are e (as is evident by there 22-20 record in the Leastern conference).

Melo will be the first to flinch in this game of chicken. He won't get NY unless the up the offer by including another team.

Which is when the Rockets come in and take the Melo rental. Then, if he decides to walk (most likely will, unless the CBA brings in new rules like a franchise tag), the Rockets can get players/picks in a SnT deal.

Exactly. I don't see why Denver should accept this bull offer. I like it that they won't cave in just like that, they're putting the pressure on Melo, because to think he'll risk going into the summer and the lockout without a contract and without pay is ridiculous. Even if he's that dumb, his agents aren't. He has another year on his contract if he doesn't opt out and I believe if he's not traded by the TD, Denver fully expect him to either sign an extension with them or not opt out of his contract with the looming lockout.

Getting a few months rental of Chandler, who will be a FA and Landry Fields for Melo is way way too low. I like what Denver are doing.
