Suffice to say you were pussy whipped.
Where were you during this historic NBA achievement?
One of the worst days of my life. One of my vendors offered me tickets to the game, I didnt take it because my gf at the time wanted to watch the Elektra movie because she was a Jennifer Garner fan...
suffice to say we are no longer together!
Suffice to say you were pussy whipped.
Come on the guy with tattoos that came alive was pretty cool.
hey...say J...man I was having an early dinner with some friends...I'll never forget what I was having either...
- Organic Arugula salad with crusted pepper Salmon.
- 6 ounce Churrassco Steak topped with light crumbled blue cheese with Asparagus on the side
- Water with no lemon but a twist of lime
- I don't do deserts
The texts came pouring in from my homies all over the country..Kool get in front of the TV...your boy is bout to score 100 points. I got a ing hard on when I heard that...I didn't get to watch it live but nonetheless I remember that historic night...in many ways it was much greater than what Wilt accomplished why?

Here is the playback in HD in 3 minutes:
What bugged me is that Kobe probably could have gone off for 100 that day, but IIRC, he sat out most of the fourth.
That was the Dallas game where Kobe scored like 60-something in three quarters.
Kobe played 42 minutes and I believe the entire fourth quarter in the 81 point game.
MJ needed OT to score 69 against white boy Craig Ehlo..not impressive...![]()
Kobe 62
Dallas 61
After 3 quarters...Phil took some heat around the country for making Kobe sit the 4th...this is just as impressive if not more than the 81 imo...
He only sat out 6 minutes of the entire game
Kobe is now 33 points from #8 Spot on the All-Time Scoring list...Move over Hakeem...
Ah ok, thanks Jam.
Yeah, that Dallas performance was way more impressive. That was the 60 win Dallas team that ended up going to the Finals that season. Not a great defensive team, but a pretty good one, with wing defensive specialists like Adrian Griffin and Marquis Daniels. Kobe scored 15 in the first, 17 in the second, and 30 in the third. 62 points in 33 minutes. Then up 34 points after three quarters, Phil called it a night for Kobe.
Would have been interesting to see what Kobe would have done in that fourth quarter, but it was the right move by Phil. 34 point lead, there's no reason to play Kobe in that fourth. It was only a 6 point lead after three quarters in the Toronto 81 point game.
Yeah, I think that game was more impressive actually. He made it look effortless.
Kobe giving it to MJ....lol this is sad..and I do think Kobe should have had more respect for MJ during this game...he didn't have to do MJ that way...Brutal...
Lng...don't you just love threads like this...because for me these types of threads give me the opportunity to point back to that default and inevitable conclusion for Spur and Celtic fan...
You know....namely that Kobe is about to You...![]()
Father Time gets the best of us all eventually Kool. We'll just have to wait and see.
But I won't deny Kobe his props when they're due. He may not be very "efficient", but he gets the job done, as often as any other top scorer in the league.
5 years ago today = smush Parker in the PG position

It was a great performance no doubt. That year he went on a scoring tear through history.
If Shaq had played with MJ, they would have had 10 rings.
The Dallas one was way more impressive.
In the 81pts show, the other team was not even trying to defend him, hoping to see Kobe break the 100 points barrier. Any respectable team could have tried to at least make things difficult for Kobe...
It was more difficult for wing players to score with hand check, no defensive 3 sg, no every contact automatic foul rules.
I watched this game a month ago. I could have dropped 81 against that Toronto d.
Grey spurfan with a classy, on-topic reply with the discussion at hand.![]()
I do think the Dallas game was more impressive because his 30 points in the quarter was basically the margin that separated Dallas from LA. Thinking about if he played in the 4th quarter... I don't think he would've done anything special in that Dallas game because they were up 34-35 already.
It inspired the name I have on: Xbox Live (de-activated), PSN, here and LG ...
You can hate Kobe but that day was historic ...
