I don't see how someone doesn't credit Monty Williams for teaching that team how to play some defense. I honestly looked over the Hornets' 41-point skull ing of the Hawks and figured their defense was being overplayed by NBATV.
Then came Saturday. Spurs couldn't make due to Emeka Okafor ing everybody up. Props to the Hornets' defense.
About matching up well...I believe in waiting till the playoffs to see who matches up well with who because to me, 7 games gives you a lot more time to figure the other team out.

Great win by the Hornets, they dominated the defensive end, and the Spurs just couldn't throw a fish in the ocean. But please son, stfu. If it's "fun" you're looking for, go to a Jimmy Buffet concert. Because for us people who actually want to come onto this board and talk basketball, people like BR are just a thorn in our side, because they completely destroy any opportunity of talking real fundamental basketball, because they rile people up, and ruffle feathers. It's just stupid man.
Some facts here:
1- I don't think at all Spurs are the favorites to win it all, this half season just put us from pretender to contender which is already a huge improvement tbh.
2- I honestly respect what Monty has done so far with the Hornets. How a spurs fan couldn't appreciate the Defensive effort and organization of the Hornets ?
3- It's true Hornets are matching up pretty well againts us, okafor and West is a dynamic duo inside which is one of our weakness, they have good 3 pts threats and the spurs have a lot of difficulties to defend that. CP3 is still a poison. For that reason not a big fan of an early match up in PO against them.
4- When you have only 6 losses it's pretty normal to overeact after one loss
a good example of practicing what you preach (paraphrasing):

Hornets played a good game, and whatever the case may have been, the Spurs didnt play to potential. The team still has losses equaling SINGLE digits as of now...... I am still a very happy Spurs fan

True the Hornets do match up with the Spurs somewhat well just because of Paul and West, but they arent the worst matchup for the Spurs. The 2 teams that would give the Spurs the most trouble are the Lakers and the Mavericks. The Hornets would come in at a distant 3rd....
