Nothing's been said since post-game last night. He's 'expected' to play in Utah tomorrow.

The Spurs can sit him for two games and give him a full week off before the start of the RRT. I'd be just fine with that.

Or we can play him 19 mins/game for 2 weeks since we don't have the bigman depth to withstand a starting center's 2 week absence.

I said two games, not two weeks.

i read somewhere that bonner's injury isn't healing. troubling news. spurs probably need to sign a big man if they want duncan to rest or cut down his minutes.

i read somewhere that bonner's injury isn't healing...
    Yesterday.

Pop says team growing concerned about Bonner's knee: "It's not getting better a lick." No structural damage, so only prescription is rest.
    Today.

Matt Bonner has returned to SA for further treatment on knee. Obviously won't play Wed vs Jazz.

Wouldn't say Bonner has had setback, but it was useless to keep him on road if he's not going to play. Players rehab better at home.

Sorry I guess I'm responding to the few posts I've seen saying something like "sit him for 2 weeks as a precaution."

Prob going to see if it swells up or becomes sore. Wouldn't surprise me to see Tim miss a game or 2 if it isn't 100%. Without Bonner though we would be very thin at the front line with Dice,Blair and Splitter.

Start Dice, Tiago gets more minutes, and Blair can alternate from PF to C as needed. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jeff at the PF with everyone else on the bench filling in the gaps and increased playing time. Sure it sucks but we have the luxury of losing two games right now with no heavy repercussions.

Duncan’s big scare serves as reminder
    Jeff McDonald

SALT LAKE CITY — Tim Duncan tumbled to the floor at Oracle Arena on Monday night, and Antonio McDyess — a man who would know — recognized all the tell-tale signs of catastrophe.

Duncan was writhing in pain. He was clutching his knee. He wasn’t getting up.

“I was scared for him,” said McDyess, whose own medical chart bears the scars of career-altering knee injuries.

McDyess also was a little scared for himself.

“I thought, ‘How many minutes am I going to have to play now?’” he said.

What at first looked to be something season-threatening for Duncan, and for the Spurs, turned out to be nothing more than a hyperflexed left knee.

So uneventful was his injury, in fact, Duncan was cleared to return in the second half. After the Spurs completed a 113-102 victory over Golden State, Duncan seemed almost sheepish about the consternation he had caused.

“I just fell wrong,” said Duncan, 34, who barring setback is expected to play tonight at Utah. “It feels fine.”
