Can't be as bad as IGN giving ty GTA4 a perfect score of 10.0 and saying the game would still be a good buy if it cost $300.
Seriously, it's eye-gougingly bad.

Can't be as bad as IGN giving ty GTA4 a perfect score of 10.0 and saying the game would still be a good buy if it cost $300.
Rockstar Games got all the journalists that were going to review the game and flew them out to NY, put them up in 5 star hotels, etc.... rumor has it that they even paid for "female entertainment"....
ever since the scandalous 10.0 on GTA4, I have avoided all gaming reviews. All I do is look at trailers or gameplay footage now.
I'm not disputing the score, rather the writing skill of the person reviewing the game.
I like the commercials for the game with the whole "so horrible you're mother will be disgusted" or whatever it is. Funny/smart concept.
IGN. That reads like it was written by a half stoned, C student, 17 year old.
Kotaku and Joystiq.![]()
"...it's a game that tells a really personal story about a guy who has been seriously scarred by the events around him."
Jesus that is bad. And he's an idiot, I'm guessing he only played multiplayer for 20 minutes or so because once you get a hang of that its really fun
". Isaac's internal conversations and hallucinations are among my favorite parts of this game.
But I have lots of favorite parts to Dead Space 2. Right behind Isaac's struggle on my list of cool stuff is the combat. It's more satisfying than it was in the original. Isaac's fast and light on his feet. You can stomp crates in a jiff and melee attack bodies for loot, grabbing things with your telekinesis is responsive, and mixing all of this together with the different weapons in the game is a blast. Slowing down a Necromorph, blowing off its arm, and using the severed limb to impale the foe on a wall is a thing of beauty that doesn't get old. "
This is my personal favorite. I'm fairly certain I was a better writer as a freshmen in high school. This guy gets paid big bucks for this article and writes like he's in junior high.
DON'T TELL US WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO, JUST ING DO IT!!!!! The "writer" got me typing in all caps. It was so bad, I didn't even get past the picture in the "review".I'm going to write about its scary moments, cool kills, and how much I dig the main character's internal struggle, but Dead Space 2 is about more than this
Someone in the comments pointed out how lazy and sloppy that sentence was. He also forgot to add amateurish as the guy is supposed to be a professional writer. Really though, as CH pointed it, it reeks of a junior high schooler writing a paper.
Just woefully bad.
Still nothing as dumb in that review as saying a ( ty) game would be worth $300 on its own.
Wasn't Zelda: Ocarina of Time the only 10.0 at IGN before that? Unbelievable putting those two on the same level. Seriously, the only good thing in GTA4 was going to the club to watch Ricky Gervais do stand-up.
In conclusion: GTA 4 is , and you'd have to be a ot to even like that game.
Pokemon Blue version got a 10.
The one on gameboy? Why blue and not red, yellow, green, silver, etc? They were all the same ing game.
The love for GTA4 was amazing, to me. After I played it, I was like... Uhnmm... ok. GTA3: San Andreas was much better.
GTA4 had the same issues past GTA games did... way too many missions, that were mostly the same type of thing. A few cool missions mixed in, but lots of boring ones. Plus, some of the fun in older games (ie. rampages) just weren't carried over well.
Honestly, off the top of my head only a few games in my mind deserve a 10.
Super Metroid
Castlevania: SotN
Super Mario 64
Chrono Trigger
Are there some issues evident now when playing those games? Sure. But they're still fun to play, and they set the bar.
Some really close ones:
Goldeneye
Halo
Super Mario 3
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Link to the Past
Red got a 10 as well. It wasn't the same game as Silver.
Soul Caliber, and a bunch of Handheld games got 10's. I think there is 26 total. Some pacman game being the most recent.
A lot of Nintendo games![]()
The article was bad but damn, you can only save 3 times on hardcore mode?? That is too intense right there. I like taking breaks after beating big bosses or barely getting alive through a enemy packed room.
What's IGN doing giving this guy a "job"?
The kid's stupid.
this guy gives me hope. im not as stupid as he is maybe i can get paid to do nothing
Halo shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Ocarina of Time, and I LOVED Combat Evolved. that's just my opinion of course.
these are the games that to me deserve a 10:
1. Ocarina of Time
2. Mario 64
3. Metal Gear Solid (PSX)
those are just a cut above the rest from the psx-n64 generation on. i started gaming on the psx, played a little SNES, but not enough to really remember.
Mario64 gets a lot of love here, but I hated it and don't think jumping games like it translate well to 3D environments. To me the only Perfect 10 games (in no particular order) are:
(1) Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
(2) Ninja Gaiden (NES)
(3) Tetris (NES)
I can't think of anything I would add or take away from any of those games. OOT is easily the most enjoyable adventure game I have ever played, Ninja Gaiden has the greatest soundtrack I have ever heard on a game, and Tetris is just a simple but brilliant idea that never gets old.
I don't think I could go any higher than 9.5 for any other game, but my 9.5s would be:
(1) Super Mario Brothers (NES)
(2) Shinobi (Arcade)
(3) GTA San Andreas (Multiplatform)
(4) GTA Vice City (Multiplatform)
(5) COD 4 (Multiplatform)
(6) Bioshock (Multiplatform)
(7) Super Mario World (SNES)
(8) Oblivion (Multiplatform)
(9) Crono Trigger (SNES)
(10) Mortal Kombat 2 (Arcade)
(11) Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)
Bioshock had 10 potential, but the later levels weren't nearly as good as the early ones.
i think San Andreas was a great game, but by the time i played it i was so GTA'd out that it wasn't as enjoyable to me. i played the out 3 and Vice City.
My 9.5's:
Goldeneye 64
Stars Wars: KOTOR
Resident Evil: Code Veronica (Dreamcast)
GTA: Vice City (PS2)
GTA 3 (PS2)
Twistet Metal 2 (PSX)
Fallout 3 (360)
dont tell me you clowns going to buy a base on these sites reviews, when they are no better then you testing it out, most of these sites get paid by the game makers to phish you....
